Elsewhere, Pennetta has continued her fine run of form by beating Venus Williams 7-6[2] 6-4. The Italian will play Daniela or Vera in the quarters.
What a draw this has turned out to be for Daniela. Hopefully she can take advantage of it and take this final set off Zvonareva. Although Pennetta is playing great tennis, I think Daniela has a better chance against her than she would have had against Williams.
Daniela holds to 15 and is now leading 2-0*!
