Its a good sign that Daniela has been able to hold serve twice since that break of serve in the second game of the match. I really hope she can take this opening set. If she does then she has a real chance in this match.

Daniela moved well to a decent drop shot from Safina and created a cross-court forehand winner at 30-0 to set up three set points. She easily won the next point to take the set 6-1! A love service game when serving for the set against the current world number 1! What could be better?

shes playing powerful winners from the baseline and hitting good returns, while Safina looks very unsatisfied.
Daniela mustn't allow Safina to find her game, and this is working brilliantly at the moment, Safina made another double fault after an unforced error and Daniela leads 2-1
