I'm just so sick of Daniela's mental frailty. :grr:

Sorry, but Daniela is not as mentally frail as she was a few years ago. she was beaten by #1 today after 2 hours. We have seen her fight back to win several matches after being down recently. A few years ago it was all over after a couple games.

Sorry, but Daniela is not as mentally frail as she was a few years ago.Absolute rubbish. Whichever way the match is spun,Daniela was a set and a break up in this match, and contrived to lose it,once again letting the antics of her opponent disturb her. Her record against top 50 players this year is 4-13 and that is simply not good enough for a player of her talent. She has won 3 consecutive matches just twice since last years AO,and if she wants to get back in the top echelons of the game, she has to start winning these kind of matches.

It is a telling indictment that the teenage Daniela showed far more composure and maturity than the current neurotic mess.

They both won 13 games do I think Daniela played good tennis..
she won a lot of good points....
I'm very sure that Dani will play better in Wimbledon if she have a good draw and maintain her physical and mental strength....

Good luck in Wimbledon!

"Maria Sharapova has drawn qualifier Viktoriya Kutuzova in the first round. Daniela Hantuchova has drawn Laura Robson. Venus Williams will play qualifier Neuza Silva in the first round."

Well, a bit disappointing. But I think I would have been really surprised to see her winning this one. Safina has gotten very strong mentally, and Daniela has always been a bit fragile. The way she goes out on the court just doesn't make me happy at all. I don't think Sharapova and Azarenka win that much matches just because of their play, they just have a really Killer-Attitude, and Danka doesn't have that.

I hope she finds a way to play a match consistent from A to Z and perhaps pull out a good win. Even if Danka would have won that one, I don't think she would have prevailed over Tanasugarn or even Wickmayer, and a Final loss to Wickmayer would hurt more than this one.

A bit of a surprise result today: Tanasugarn has beaten world number 1 Safina 7-5 7-5 in the semi-finals. The second year in a row that Safina has lost to Tanasugarn in this tournament. The Thai number 1 will play teenage wildcard Yanina Wickmayer for the title.
