6-0! Hantuyama get it together!
Well, they seem to have woken up... 2 breaks up in the 2nd and on serve 3-0
4-0... make it a bagel to get things even

Now 4-0*. Probably down to a combination of Daniela and Ai stepping it up and Alona and Kateryna losing a bit of focus. Hopefully they can repeat what the Bondarenko's did and get a bagel set.

2nd set for Hantuyama 6-2... make it easy in the 3rd, please

3rd set going fast... 3-1 Hantuyama
oh, its a super tie... shouldve noticed  7-1 Hantuyama
They won the tie 10-1 :)

0-6,6-2,10-1 :)

At least in doubles Daniela has a bit of a luck at the moment.

Hope these wins with Ai give her confidence and hold her form high.

Thats a really good result - a win over the 2008 Australian Open doubles champions.
I'm hoping for another good week in the doubles. It'll be good preparation for RG and will keep the momentum going.
Next up its Stosur and Stubbs (the fourth seeds in Madrid).

Daniela and Ai have managed to break back and get the first set back on serve. They are now serving to stay in the set at *4-5, having been down *2-5.

Daniela and Ai hold serve from *0-30... it's now 5-5* (three games in a row).

*5-6 (once again serving to stay in the set)...
*0-15, 0-30, 0-40 (3SP S/S), 15-40, GAME STOSUR/STUBBS.
Why do I get the impression that Daniela was serving there?

Having led by a break, Daniela and Ai lose the second set 6-4, and the match 7-5 6-4. Dissapointing because if they had kept their lead and taken it to a third set then they might have got through since anything can happen in a champions tie-break. On to Roland Garros... unless Daniela now obtains a wildcard into Warsaw.

Daniela's beating the players she should be beating and she's getting into a bit of form. Her level's gone up since she teamed up with Passos and she was competitive against Jankovic and should have won the first set and had all these BPs in the second. She was creating opportunities but couldn't convert them. She was competitive but couldn't get the breakthrough and a win against a top player would do so much for Daniela. It's disappointing that it didn't happen this time but Daniela's trajectory is upwards and as she works with Passos some more, she should get better.

Daniela's playing well on her weakest surface so, like George said, when she gets to grass and hardcourt, she should do very well and she has so many points to gain between now and the US Open so she can really go up the rankings and get good seedings and draws she can take advantage of.

Apropos of nothing, I had a very weird dream a couple of weeks ago involving the characters from Mad Men and Lady Gaga which ended with me discovering Jelena Jankovic was my mother  Incidently, I think Jankovic's mother is Lady Gaga in 30 years time, assuming there's no procedures or surgery. Over to Sigmund Freud on this.
