Can someone answer me this?

When was the last time Daniela against a reigning world number 1 in a tournament?

Daniela had a walkover against Amelie Mauresmo at Zurich in October 2006. Prior to that she met Kim Clijsters in the R16 in Filderstadt in October 2003, losing 6-1 6-1. Quite surprisingly, that is the only time she has ever played a world number 1 in her career, so I'm sure tonight's match will be fairly special for her.
Daniela has played lots of matches against world number 2 and 3 players, and has of course played lots of matches against players who were or eventually got to the world number 1 spot, but obviously thats not quite the same as playing a current world number 1.

It's funny that the local Eurosport do now feature the world no 1 match. I will following the livescore I guess. My internet connection is not good with live streaming lately.

Very impressed when I saw the scoreline, seems like she obviously had the mental edge over Cornet following her win against her over the weekend and kept going with that, as for her match tonight against Safina, I dont think any of us can really expect Daniela to get anything out it, I just hope that she does her best, gives a good showing of herself and enjoys the moment, as was said earlier, this is only the 2nd time that she has played against a current number 1 and its a chance to gauge where she is in her career and on clay against last years french open finalist
