Peer not being allowed to play is just so horrible. I'd hope the tournament would be boycotted for actions like this. |

There are already talks that this tournament may not be on the calendar in future years, but I agree, I think the tournament should have been boycotted. The tournament and local economy would have then lost potential revenues, and it would have also put a dark cloud over the men's tournament. This would have been fully deserved in my oppinion. |

There's an old fable about a boy and his pet snake. The boy takes care of, nurtures and feeds the snake until the snake matures. Then, one day the beloved snake bites the boy. When the boy asks the snake why he did that, the snake says "You knew what I was when you picked me up." This was entirely foreseeable. Given the UAE's position of not recognizing Israel as a state, their backward stance on women's rights, and the fact that the government seems to have veto power over a private enterprise like a tennis tournament, you know you are dealing with a rattlesnake. The WTA should not return to Dubai next year, period. And they also should seek full assurances of adherence to the WTA's policies and a condemnation of Dubai's act from Qatar or else the YEC should be moved as well. I can understand the discomfort anyone may have with certain Israeli policies toward the Palestinians, but sport needs to be an apolitical place. The government of Zimbabwe is far worse than the Israeli government, and yet no one denies Cara Black entry anywhere. And nor should they. |

different matter: Mauresmo has pulled out, and I think the reason is that she simply can't make it down there to her first round match. Sunday: final in Paris, Monday: R64 in Dubai. I thought they had a rule that a player was to have a day's break between two tournaments |

If she has left Paris tonight then she could probably make it, albeit slightly jet-lagged and unprepared. Where did you read that she had pulled out? |

I completely agree. My hope is that regardless of WTA position on the tournament that players would see fit to avoid it. Discrimination on any level, for whatever reason, shouldn't be tolerated. EDIT: I also thought it was the case that players required a one day break between tournaments. It's not Amelie's fault that she made the final |

Hantuchova just wasted 5-4* 0-40 This is a very hard match for me. On one hand, i'd love Danka to win, but at the other, it'll be a great win for Steffi if she could score an upset. But i think Danka will pull it out. |

what the hell Daniela... 5-4 40-0 (3 set points) and you can't win one point to take the set. This set should have been put away 20mins ago, and it should have been won 6-1 or 6-2. Ugggh... can we please have a match where we don't have to worry or stress about your chances of winning. |
