Leading 5-2*.

Three double faults in 27 service points so far. She had a high number of double faults in her last match as well. I wonder if that is partially by design, to be more aggressive on second serve, as she had serious issues with the second serve at the end of last year. I'm not sure how well that will work long-term but it's good to see her trying some new things to improve her game.

Well, this is a score danka should impose to low ranked players all the time. Im glad she gave back the bagel she got in Brisbane  Dont know if anyone watched this, hope she played decent (she seems to have). Danka also seems to be testing her 2nd serve and risking a bit more (hence the DFs). So Im glad she's working in her shortcomings and its a relieve to see her win a match and even more so with such a score. Do your best against Aga! ;)

I didn't see it but I can only hope that there is something.

She plays Radwanska next. Radwanska came through easily as well.

Seeing that Danka won I went out in the freeze and did some cycling. Things go through peoples heads. Oh well. I guess she knows what she is doing.

well Danka and Aga met in Zurich 2007, Aga won. Then they met in Aus Open 2008, Danka won. So we've seen what not to do and what to do. Daniela played well in the QF last year to beat Aga, punished the weak second serves among other things. Hopefully she remembers how to beat Aga.

Well done Dani. To be honest, i was a little bit afraid of this
match, not because Zakopalova is such a great player, but
because i couldn’t know Dani’s reaction after Brisbane.
Anyway, Radwanska is far superior to Zakopalova, plus she has
one extra day of resting. A good test for Dani for the upcoming AO.

i was at her match. she played well. not at her best, but consistent and solid!

match report, pictures and some videos to follow soon. i just have to upload and combine the videos, so that it's a continuous file, and not multiple 10 second clips.

should i post the pictures and videos here, or in the appropriate forum?

Finally a win. But Radwanska should be the real touchstone.

In the appropriate forum if possible.
btw. one aussie guy in the CP wrote that Eduardo Nicolas was there with Daniela and Portas during one of her practice sessions. Apparently she still works with him.
