Its a shocking state of affairs that we, the fans, are having a poll on whether Daniela will reach the 2nd round. Hopefully, being seeded number 3 should give her a reasonable draw. Out of all the players that wont be seeded in the draw there arent any that I would think she could win she couldnt win, they are all matches that even Daniela in this form should win, by personal hope, being a brit, is that she doesnt get Laura Robson, although it would be phenomenal for her to beat someone like Daniela, it would also be slightly humiliating as a long time fan of Daniela. Why am I even contemplating this? Scott |

It's not that I don't believe in her anymore, but in the last months a first round win couldn't be taken for granted. But great that no-one has voted for a loss so far, which means that believing in Daniela hasn't stopped completely. Does somebody know when the draw will be published? I can't find the date on the website.. |

I agree Scott. I am really hoping the two don't meet. With the way Daniela is playing and the good wins that Robson has had recently I wouldn't be that surprised if Robson were able to take a set off Daniela and make it a close match. My hope this week is that Daniela and Laura both manage a first round win, although with both of them it depends very much on the draw, particularly Robson, who ideadly needs to meet a qualifier or Minella (the other wildcard) to stand a decent chance of a win. |

Why not go to Linz if she was going to loose. Seems logical to me. I dont know. (so please disregard my posts) The tier III points arent substantially different than those of tier II etc. The prize money is however. Marcelo Rios played obscure tournements and stayed at #1 for a long while. He made up the difference with a good seed in GSs. I dont know if he ever won one though. |
