This is a really good win. I didn't expect it to be this comfortable at all. It just shows that when Daniela plays well she can quite easily outplay top-30 players.

Quite surprised to see Venus Williams lose today, after beating Safina comfortably last week.

wow, I'm shocked in a positive way now that I saw this great result :)
I would never have expected Daniela to win that clearly against Schiavone.
Sad that it wasn't on TV, I would love to see this match.

Now I wonder if this is just an exceptional case of if Daniela is going to continue like this?! :?

What a surprise. After the last qualifying round of Schiavone, I didn't expect Daniela to win in straight sets. The fact that Daniela didn't face a bp is even more surprising. This is very rare in womens tennis.

But I don't want to expect too much for the next round against Zvonareva. Daniela's play can change form day to day.

Quite a surprise to see Azarenka go out in the first round too.
Looks like the teenager is going to finish in the top-twenty this year but without a career title to her name. She is the only player in the current top-twenty to have still not won a title.

Strong, strong result. This has been one of the brighter days for Daniela fans, and I'm sure for Daniela herself, this year. :)
It's only one match though, so we would be wise to keep our excitement in check a bit. That's also something we should remember next time she lays an egg out on the court.

That is more like it!!!!!

Why cant we have more matches like this going the way of Daniela, great result, must give her huge belief and confidence going into the Zvonareva match, even though the Russians game doesnt suit Daniela what so ever. So happy with this result as you may be able to tell

she lays an egg

Some of these English idioms are quite funny (for a non-native speaker).

don't remind me. And she has withdrawn from Quebec (it would have been a great place to get that damn title)

As some of you said before, Vera's way of play is try to move the opponent around. When her opponent is so consistent like JJ, she normally looses the match. But for someone like Daniela, whose movement is no way her strong point, it is always bad. That is why their matches have always been one-sided ones. The only way to get herself out of that situation is to dictate the point first, try to hit harder to get advantage. That requires much confidence and good tactics. Daniela has nothing to lose in the next match, so I hope she can play free and show us good performance.

Ivanovic loses once again, this time to Cibulkova in three sets. Final scoreline, Cibulkova d. Ivanovic 3-6 6-2 7-6[4].
Ivanovic's win-loss record since winning Roland Garros is now 5-6. Not what anyone would have expected after she took her first grand slam title.
