3-5 - Broken at 30-40. Ugh.
4-5 - She breaks back, converting her first BP of the set.
5-5 - She won all three points played on her second serve which is a nice change of pace.
5-6 - Daniela had it 30-30 but lost the game. Here comes must-win game number three.
6-6 - Saved three match points and held on her second game point! :drink:
Tiebreak - 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-3, 2-4
:heart2: :jump:

Hopefully this win will give Daniela some much needed confidence.

Exactly what im thinking right now. But that win over Olga is just great. It would be nice if she can beat Cornet too but we'll have to see what happens. Hopefully Daniela can start off strong and keep up her level. She definitely must have a good tactics and stay strong mentally since Cornet has been improving a lot since their last match.

Second seed Daniela Hantuchova earned a dramatic victory here on Wednesday to slip into the quarter-finals of the WTA and ATP tournament.

The 25-year-old Slovakian fought off three match points at the Connecticut Tennis Center before prevailing 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7/4) over Belarusian Olga Govortsova in two hours and 29 minutes.

"I'm so proud with the way I saved those match points," a relieved Hantuchova said. "I need those kind of matches under my belt. It's good for my confidence."

Hantuchova was slow respond to the unexpected danger posed by her powerful opponent, who is ranked 48th in the world. The slender Slovakian fell 3-5 in the ensuing set but battled through.

"I had to dig deep. If I can get through those kind of matches, I can get through anything," added the 12th-ranked Slovakian.

Thank god I wasnt awake for this match cause i wouldnt of been able to cope. But these are the types of matches that if Daniela can win will give her more confidence than straight set wins imo because of the fact that she has battled and won against a player who recently beat her comfortably. Winning matches when your not neccessarily playing at your best is great for confidence because your winning and you know you can still do better.

Cornet will be a tricky oppo and Daniela will be in for a stern test but its a match shes more than capable of winning and I hope we can get her first back to back wins since her injury.

Under the circumstances, this is a great win for Daniela. This is the sort of match she won so often in 2007, so to win a match like this will be a big boost to her confidence, especially as it's been a long time since she's won a three setter. We all know that Daniela's a fighter and someone that's determined and strong and she proved it again. The last time she saved a match point and then won the match, Daniela won the tournament.

In Daniela's last two tournaments, she's gotten revenge against against Ai and Govortsova who'd beaten her in Stanford & LA. It shows that Daniela's level of play and confidence is rising.

Cornet will be a tough opponent, although her best results have all been on clay. She's a solid player so Daniela will have to play well to beat her.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

2-1 Daniela. Both ladies are playing really well early as nearly every point has been won not lost.
