Congrats for the doubles win and now onto the more important matter of singles. Expecting close one, but as long as Daniela puts in 100% ill be happy, last time they met it was a night match, im hoping off course for a different outcome tonight. Good luck Daniela

wow Danka and Lindsay won. and they beat Govortsova and her doubles teammate.
I hope she beat Govortsova tomorrow.
Let's pray for her.

I like her outfit when she played doubles.

Since most of you cannot follow along live, here's my stream of consciousness review. This is just going off the live scoreboard, there's no stream as best as I can tell.
As you can see below, you didn't really miss anything.
2-2 - one break apiece.
3-2 - Long game, where Daniela saved 5 BPs before finally holding. At this point, she's 14/21 on first serve and 2/9 on second serve. So, it's the same old story.
3-4 - Easy hold for Olga and a break at 30-40. Daniela is now 2/11 on second serve.
3-5 - Daniela led 0-30 and had two BPs but still lost the game. :(
3-6 - Broken again. Govortsova got 11 BPs in five service games. 4/15 on second serve, more of the same.

0-1 - Olga holds to love. Daniela must be seriously lacking confidence at this point. And who can blame her given that she hasn't had the results necessary to boost confidence.
1-1 - Olga saved 5 GPs before relenting.
3-1 - A break and a hold, both after long games. Guarded optimism.
4-2 - Both ladies hold.
5-2 - Another break. That's quite the nice little comeback after being perilously close to being a set and a break down. :)
6-2 - Strong set at last. Let's keep it going in the third!

1-1 - Two holds to start. Daniela is getting over a very high percentage of first serves now.
2-2 - Daniela hit her first two aces of the match to hold.
3-3 - No service game has gone to deuce yet.
3-4 - Olga holds at 40-30. She's won 56% of her points on second serve compared to Daniela's 34%.
3-5 - Broken at 30-40. Ugh.
4-5 - She breaks back, converting her first BP of the set.
5-5 - She won all three points played on her second serve which is a nice change of pace.
5-6 - Daniela had it 30-30 but lost the game. Here comes must-win game number three.
6-6 - Saved three match points and held on her second game point! :drink:
Tiebreak - 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-3, 2-4, 3-4, 4-4, 5-4, MP podme!, 7-4.
She had it all the way.
Seriously, Daniela must have some masochistic streak in her to do this kind of thing to us. ;)

I don't think so as the match isn't televised anywhere.

I'm sorry but until she fixes her serve she isn't going to improve in this match or at new york....I should just wait till the new season as the rest of this year isn't looking that good at present

....she lost the first set 6-3

Can't believe in a daniela forum, we don't even have a fainting smilie lol.

Her serve has improved but just fought off 3 match points to take the match to a tb.

Now 3-1 down in tb

Stadium (from 10.30hrs)
1. ATP: Verdasco vs. Zverev
2. Cornet vs. Hantuchova (NB 13.00hrs)
3. ATP: Levine vs. [Gicquel or Fish]
4. Szavay vs. Mauresmo (NB 19.00hrs)
5. ATP: Cilic vs. Andreev

Grandstand (from 10.30hrs)
1. ATP: Seppi vs. Gregorc
2. Chakvetadze vs. Cirstea (NB 13.00hrs)
3. Wozniacki vs. Bartoli
4. Davenport/Hantuchova vs. Rodionova/Voskoboeva (NB 16.00hrs)
5. Cirstea/Niculescu vs. King/Kudryavtseva

That's a pretty quick turnaround for Daniela. She managed to beat Cornet in straight sets in Melbourne, a win which looks a heck of a lot more impressive now as Alize has moved up some 20-25 spots in the rankings. This match will be quite difficult though doubles looks like a breeze.
On the plus side, ESPN is offering coverage of this match (and the Szavay match) live tomorrow.
