Daniela got a wildcard for Mallorca so she'll be playing there in a week and a half. She's not on the entry list for Rosmalen or Nottingham main draw so unless she's going to try to qualify for Nottingham then Mallorca should be Daniela's next tournament, eddy.

Daniela posted one of her hashtag filled FB messages about how happy she is to play in Mallarca, so that would be a clue that she wasn't badly hurt yesterday.

I'm a bit called about Billy Barry's flirtation with cricket, then this is her comeback tourney and she's beating people's butts. :x She couldn't have waited one more week? Story of a Daniela fan's life.

Tennisforum doesn't have Daniela listed as having a wildcard for Mallorca...they are usually clued up...

Daniela is listed in the Nottingham qualifiers. Whether she plays remains to be seen.

That the "Mallorca Open" will be premiered, has spread rapidly in the world of tennis. The organizers look forward to an attractive field of participants. set to number one the Spaniard Garbiñe Muguruza is (currently the fourth in the world rankings). Also at the start include Sara Errani (Italy, 18), Jelena Jankovic (Serbia, 24), Kristina Mladenovic (France, 28), Monica Niculescu (Romania, 31), Eugenie Bouchard (Canada, 46), Mónica Puig (Puerto Rico, 60) and Johanna Larsson (Sweden, 62). For the Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova, who is now 33 and earlier times was the world number five, there is a wild card.

So....if Daniela's going to Mallorca, Spain, will she be offered a 10 pound bag of cocaine, the best in all the land? And will she say no-no-no-no? :D

A lot of whining going on in Paris from high seeds after losing, I see. I'm waiting for a withering blast of tourney organizers from someone after winning a match.

Barty took on too much of a Risk(e) and went down in the semis.

Just a heads up guys, Daniela has 170 points to defend over the grass court season.

If she doesn't have deep runs then after Wimbledon she'll be out of the top 250...and it'll be curtains for Daniela.

Say some prayers guys that she has a freak amazing run somewhere  ...

According to one of those up to the minute ranking sites, Daniela will gain 47 points from the French qualies and her one win at Eastbourne. That has to help somewhat. I'll do some homework to see what one win at Mallorca and three in the Wimbledon qualies might do. Wildly optimistic? Sure, but our gal has lifted us up at unexpected times more than once.
And no matter what, it looks like Dani will continue to play for awhile yet. Never give up on the good times!

Now, I have proven here to be far from an expert on the point system. My best guess is that Daniela should get the wins I noted above, she will garner 80 points, and with a 1st round win in the main draw during the fortnight, that would be 60 more. 80+60+47=187. Problem solved, opportunity gained.
(Please, no commentary about the chances of a snowball in hell.)

Daniela's not in the qualifying draws for Nottingham or Rosmalen so unless she gets a wildcard for the main draw then she's not playing next week. Her social media posts about Mallorca indicated that she's not going to be playing next week. She'll have to have a good grass season to stay in the top 200.

Daniela was in the top 100 for 776 weeks and she's one of the oldest players on tour so that shows how good she's been for so long. I think a lot of tournaments will still give her wildcards even if it is for qualifying and she can still play ITFs. At this stage in her career Daniela just wants to play and be competitive at a reasonable level. If she wanted to then she could still play doubles and play at a higher level of tournament than singles, Vinci & Makarova have played with her recently so Daniela would be able to get a good partner in doubles. She could do media work as she did some commentating at the Australian Open and was excellent so she could do that if she still wants to be involved with tennis after her playing career.

Wow! Never knew that. Now this will never happen, but there are career numbers that, if argued eloquently enough, can make a case for Daniela to be a Hall of Famer. I would enjoy it a lot if Dani can somehow reach 600 career wins. Hey, only 44 to go! :delicious:

I'm annoyed she's not playing in Nottingham.

The qualifying draw is weak and seeing as grass is her best surface it was a great chance to build confidence and get some points. Maybe she's not fully recovered from the Barty match..

Here's hoping Mallorca can save the day...
