Kasatkina through to Quarters...I guess that's something...

According to tennisforum.com's Miami thread, there is one qualifier wild card left, and that would be Daniela's only chance to play there.

And that didn't happen. So unless she's in doubles, no Dani in Miami.

So the CEO at Indian Wells is a sexist featherbrained imbecile. Props to Serena for ripping the guy big time (before she somehow got ripped in the final by Azarenka). The silver lining in Daniela's eventually retiring is that I won't have to follow this sport anymore!

I doubt Daniela will play doubles in Miami, Alex, as she's entered an ITF in France next week plus she's only played doubles three times since Wimbledon. The lowest direct entry in the qualifying draw was Glushko at 134 and Daniela's ranked 181 plus the best she's ever done in Miami is the fourth round so it was always a long shot that she'd get a wildcard.

Serena Williams is the Debbie McGee to Larry Ellison's Paul Daniels.

Reading that just makes me painfully sad.

At least Daniela's still playing, that's the way I'm looking at it. She's still able to do what she loves and she wouldn't be there if she didn't want to be there.
