too much to ask for. She played a great second service game. Winning it to love and getting all serves in as first serves. Then in the next she makes her first df and everything went downhill from there.

2/10 on 2nd serve. Someone ought to tell her she needs to vary its placement. It's the same story everytime she plays a taller opponent who can take the ball on the rise.

broken again. This is not going well. I don't see a comeback

EDIT: well she got the break back now. Now hold, please.

EDIT: forgotten how to win on first serves as well (won 5/11 in the second set). Broken again.

From Govortsova's serving stats, especially in the 1st set, I imagine Daniela's returns were again all over the place like they were against Sugiyama because Olga isn't such a good server. And in this kind of form Danka's usual weaknesses are even easier to be exploited.
These are time times for her, she needs to hang in there and keep positive approach.

What a nightmare this season has turned into since 6-0 2-0 against Ivanovic. Everything went wrong from there. The illness, the total mishandling of her injury and now two terrible performances in a row. She's won one match since March. One.

Even recognizing that much of this isn't her fault (the injury), she may need to consider skipping Montreal and trying to fix this on the practice court. Even at that, it doesn't look like she has a prayer to get past the second round at Beijing.
