we can only hope she will win some matches in a row at least one would be a good start it's a very strong field.. i think there are 3 rounds before the quarter final , so normally till round 3 she will meet players outside top 16 seeds. Not sure now many bye's (4 or 8) |

Hopefully Daniela can get a reasonable draw and get some wins, but the cliche of one match at time applies. Right now, all I'm looking for is that Daniela plays better than she did in Stanford but we'll see what happens. |

8 bye's.ivanovic the defending champion not here? Yes, I was surprised to see this too. Sharapova (2007 semi-finalist) and Dememtieva (2007 quarter-finalist) are not here either. So rankings at the top could change dramatically over the coming weeks, particularly since Serena is playing in Stanford and Los Angeles and has a good chance of winning both. Petrova will surely struggle to defend all her points from last year's tournament (2007 finalist). With regards to Daniela I hope she gets a relatively easy second-round opponant who she can defeat and therefore gain confidence. This should then help her in a third round match with potentially another seeded player. Hopefully someone like Bammer or Azarenka. In my eyes this would be a good draw, instead of being in the same section as someone like Pennetta or Vaidisova. |

I was quite surprised to see that she's seeded. Here's hoping she gives doubles another try, she admits to needing the match practice. |

Well, i hope in the last 16 she will meet Bammer or Pennetta. She has a very bad record against Vaidisova, and Vaidisova showed some signs of playing good tennis at wimbledon. She already lost to Razzano and if she has an On-Day Danka will be blown away unless she improve her game. Bammer is definitely out of form, saw her match yesterday against wozniak and she had a lot of trouble with Aleks' Power Shots. Pennetta still sucks. I don't know what to expect from her. In Fall 2007 she made a wonderful run on hardcourts and this year she played bad. I really hope for a good run here, it's important to gain points now, because she won't have many chances in Fall to improve her Ranking. |

Na Li [CHN] is also in the main draw. Could be a very tricky second-round opponant for Daniela. |

Really tough entry list, although some top-players aren't here. A good draw would be so important for Daniela to get the chance to gain confidence. But a better draw than in Stanford isn't possible I think. |
