We'll just see how Daniela does here. So much will depend on the draw and how fit she is because last year she got the runner-up in the first round while the previous two years she wasn't fully fit due to her exertions at Birmingham and s'hertogenbosch and an injury lay-off. This year Daniela's taking the week before off to make sure that she's rested and injury free. Hopefully, she can get a decent draw and she can take it from there. It would be great for Daniela to have a run here as this tournament means so much to her |

1R Cibulkova 2R Garcia/Watson 3R Serena 4R Venus QF Ivanovic SF Sharapova F Kvitova That's a brutal, brutal draw but it could have been worse....such a shame it's all Slovak battle in round 1. If Daniela manages to win that one 2nd round is winnable but then it's ridiculous from there. |

That's a really tough draw where you really have to take things one match at a time. Daniela is 4-0 against Cibulkova and Cibulkova's been injured for most of the year but she played pretty well in Eastbourne beating Safarova although this will be the first time they've played since Cibulkova hired Liptak as her coach. Daniela really hasn't done too much recently although she had a good run in Birmingham which will be a boost to her confidence. The match will be on Monday as it's in the opposite half of the draw to defending champion Kvitova who starts on Tuesday. Either Garcia or Watson would be tough opponents in the next round and then it would be Serena Williams. I think Daniela will be playing doubles with Sam Stosur again and they did well at Roland Garros. Derby Hantuchova - Cibulkova will have a specific charge for coach Matej Liptak. There is a personal lifestyle manager Cibulková, in the past led Hantuchova, moreover, is the captain of the Slovak Fed Cup team. "I think for Domca is primarily excellent news that the foot is fine and that withstand tough first test in Eastbourne. Added to this is the quite good form and quality of the game. I think that Domča is well prepared and hungry After the match, but we are still at the stage where we do not make any big ambitions and expectations. I take it as another good test after a long break without games. Duel against Daniela will certainly have a slightly different charge, because in it meet two big names Slovak female tennis and directly at Wimbledon. We are prepared for that as each different game and Domča surely will try to give the best performance," he told TASR Liptak. President of the Slovak Tennis Association Tibor Macka happier that Cibulkova Hantuchova to enroll in the first round against each other. "I'm glad of it, on the other hand, this match will have a special flavor. It is identified by him for netipovateľný. It is difficult to make any forecasts in advance. Daniela has the right to the grass a chance to achieve a good result, a quality service and quick punches. In recent months, however, did not play in optimal form. Dominika occurred after a break caused by an injury just three games, which is relatively low. At the tournament in Eastbourne has said that the injured leg hold, it can not be missing match practice," he told TASR head of the Slovak tennis. @ google translate |

This might cause some block parties in Slovakia on Monday, but it's not doing much for me. My only hope is that Dani can jump ahead early and use a psychological edge, having never lost to Domi and getting that to be on Domi's mind. Otherwise, I get to look forward to Daniela not playing much in America this summer. |

Daniela has reunited with Sam Stosur. They will face Husarova/Kania first. Should they win, most likely next is #9 seeds Dellacqua/Shvedova. |

Could have done with a better court and an earlier start. Who knows how long these men's matches will last and while Court 16 isn't the worst court, it isn't a particularly good one either. The first set will be crucial in this match as Daniela hasn't lost this year after winning the first set and Cibulkova will just be coming back from injury so she'll have some doubt about her ability to come back from a set down. Likewise, it will be a big boost for Cibulkova if she wins the first set and a blow for Daniela. All their previous matches have gone to three sets so the match will probably be close. We know about Daniela's struggles this year but Cibulkova's been erratic over the past 12 months; she played very well in Australia but she lost at the US Open to a 15 year old ranked outside the top 1000. She's been out injured but had some good results at Eastbourne beating Safarova there so who knows how Cibulkova's going to play. Fitness and health will probably be a factor as Cibulkova was out injured for a few months while Daniela was hampered by injury. Hopefully the week off last week means Daniela's fully fit and healthy. |

Dani won 1st set 7-5. 16 winners and 6 unforced. Great stats so far. Hope she can maintain and win this! |

Have a bagel with your strawberries and cream, Domi! We know who women's tennis in Slovakia still belongs to! Super, super win. Domi served for the first set at 4-5. Daniela won the last 9 games! Once she pulled the first set out, there was no stopping her. The mental edge that I hoped would be a factor clearly became one. Stats to savor galore! 1 double fault, excellent % of first serves won, 6-6 on net points, 5-6 on break points, and 8-9 saving them. Without doubt, Dani's best match at Wimbledon in years, and her best this year in months. Woo-Hoo! Daniela last served a bagel at Pattaya City against the one, the only, Ying-Ying Duan. This one's a tiny bit more impressive. |

A really great win and performance by Daniela. She showed all her skills and qualities in this match to fight back from 3-5 down in the first set to win the last 10 games of the match. There were times when she had to dig in, as she had to save a lot of BPs in the first set as Domi was putting her under a lot of pressure at the start of the match but she saved a lot Cibulkova did waver a bit when she served for the first set at 4-5, but Daniela took advantage of it so well and when she got the momentum she never let go of it, Cibulkova was 15-40 on Daniela's serve in the third game of the second set and a break there could have changed the momentum of the match but Daniela came up with some great tennis to hold and that seemed to deflate Domi and Daniela never let up. Daniela just put the pressure on Cibulkova throughout the second set as she was serving well, her groundstrokes were strong and accurate and she returned well. She was especially good on Bps, she saved 8/9 while she won 5/6. Daniela was clutch on the big points. She was so good today. It's Daniela's first win at Wimbledon since 2011 and it was worth waiting for. |

It's Daniela's first win at Wimbledon since 2011 and it was worth waiting for. You said it, Chungwit! Today and in Birmingham, it is really good to see that Daniela is winning and playing some impressive tennis on obscure courts and after waiting for 2-3 other matches, one including a rain delay. This has been a talking point for all of us as it has plagued her the last few years. And it never made a heck of a lot of sense to me, as these are situations that Dani has encountered a thousand times. Let's hope it's past her for a long time. Daniela and Sam are second up on Court 9 tomorrow, with a men's singles first. (Or am I supposed to say gentlemen's singles? Please. Never in a million years! ) |

It helped Daniela that the matches before her were fairly quick so she didn't have to wait around for too long. I think what has sometimes disrupted Daniela is if someone's winning the match before easily and then the other guy launches a comeback so the match last another 2-3 hours so Daniela doesn't get on court when she's expecting too. It disrupts when to eat and whether or not to practice. Everything was perfect this time, especially Daniela's performance, she was great. |
