After Serena got by Muguruza she had a lot to say about how powerful Garbine's serves and ground strokes are. Last year, Daniela was constantly pummeled by power players. So, a bit encouraging that Dani clobbered her in a set and took her to three.

But Mug always seems to have a dip in her game allowing anyone to get a set off her. Having said that, Daniela did play very well on that 2nd set.

Too bad Daniela is not playing fed cup, I would have loved to her here in The Netherlands.

Is that confirmed?

Yes. Daniela is apparently training with Carlos again.

The Slovak team lacks longstanding support Daniela Hantuchova. "They have a new coach and plan a different program. The Fed Cup wants to miss, but the next duel would have wanted to be available, " said Igor Moška.

This is terrific news, not just for the elimination of a draining couple of flights, but even more so that Dani is sticking with Carlos and spending some of this time working with him. She must have been encouraged by the Errani win and belting Muguruza in a set. If it comes out that Daniela also found time to visit her Cambodian children's hospital before getting to Thailand...well...that would be so Daniellian!

Great news!

Although I'd really like to see Carlos attend one tournament with Daniela...I think that will really make a much bigger difference IMO.
