Are Xu freaking kidding me?!! OMG what a comeback!
This is by far Daniela's best rally from behind all year! I was at a pizzeria with my wife all the way to 2-5 in the second. The only hope, me thought, was to get out of there and check the score on my phone every 5 minutes instead of every 2-3 as I normally do when the phone is my only option. By the time we arrived home, it was 5-5, and I just knew that if I could get to my Kindle, it would all work out! And it sure did. The final push was Daniela and Arantxa making the last 3 points from down 8-7 in the super tiebreak.

I like the pairing of Parra Santonja and Daniela, I'm glad they've resumed their partnership. Wonder if Peschke will make an appearance with Daniela at somepoint this US Open Series?

Aw, frig. A betrayal of serve again. Daniela showed the usual fight, getting it to 5-4 and saving 2 MP.
It will be much easier to console myself today, for it was one year ago in Carlsbad that Dani partnered with Hingis and signed my shirt with a smile on her face and inside the autograph. She was in such a wonderful, giddy mood that night.

When you've decimated Serena's serve,like Garbine did at the French Open-then Danielas serve is going to appear ripe for the plucking. Stanford courts are so quick that the match is essentially going to boil down to quality of serve.

Out of interest,do we know who was coaching Daniela this week?

Seems like Daniela played well but didn't take advantage of a lot of break points..

Her 2nd serve is always going to be dodgy...needs to find more angle I think.

Felt like Daniela deserved a set today but wasn't to be..

Can't see Daniela winning a tournament this year which would be the first time since 2010...
