Feuerstein beat Govortsova 6-1 7-5 so she's the next opponent for Daniela.

The tried and true formula for Daniela Maniacs relief: 1st set loss+agina+Maalox+classic fighting spirit=Victory! My heart sank at 3-4 in the third, but something told me hang in because Dani will and she'll get the break right back. And what a relief it was when she did! Very happy with this win.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Roland Tennis: Hantuchova: "I am very happy that I came into the tournament entry" (4)

Paris, May 25 (TASR) - Slovak tennis player Daniela Hantuchova fought its way into the second round of Grand Slam singles at Roland Garros. In the first round you on the Paris clay court as deployed tridsaťjednotka consulted the talented Serb Jovana Jakšičovou after trojsetovej battle 2:6, 6:2 and 6:4.

Zverenka Swedish coach Peter Lundgren played in the decisive act of 3:4 and had a counterattack down, but then won three gems in a row. After a glorious rare too turned into the second ranked match point. It will be another grueling domestic Frenchwoman Claire Feuerstein. Hantuchova starts in Paris after the twelfth time, the singles-maximum is eight.

Puig and Vinci both lost in the first round today, so it is nice that Daniela has at least has gotten further than them two in the clay Grand Slam.

The last 3 weeks for Puig shows that wild differences in performance from one week to the next is far from the exclusive property of Daniela.

Daniela pairing with Peer brings back memories of the life lesson I learned in 2007. I might have spun this yarn here before, but hey, why not. Daniela faced Peer in the quarters of Indian Wells, as you well may recall. It was a night match which was shown on ESPN. Daniela won the first set easily, then the fun began. In what I recall being a monument to unforced errors and squandered chances, Peer took the second set 7-5, and the final set went to the tiebreaker after a number of chances to cinch the match slipped away from Dani. She continued with the UE's in the tiebreaker, and if memory serves correctly, Peer got to 5-4 on a really calamitous UE by our gal. It was late at night and I had wanted to go to sleep an hour before. After this particular point, I said enough is enough……I can't watch the inevitable. Off went the set. Not only that, I couldn't bring myself to check the newspaper or the Internet for the heartwrencing final result, or any other results for the final weekend of the event. Reading a sports section on that Monday for other reasons, my disbelieving eyes came upon the headline: Hantuchova Beats Kuznetsova, Wins Indian Wells.
From that day forward, I have known not to ever give up on Daniela! If a match on TV or on live scores is really going badly, I walk away from it for 15 minutes, but always come back. If this is grounds for permanent expulsion from the Forum, I will understand! But maybe you guys have your own similar stories!

Let's Go, Daniela!

Daniela's not entered the mixed doubles so she's focusing on singles here and we'll see what happens in doubles although Black and Mirza are tough opponents in the first round.

Dani is on court 1 again tomorrow. It's the third match after two men's, the second one involving Berdych. Be ready to cool your jets and wait and wait for a pair of 5 set/4 hour matches.

Oh, and thanks for reminding me, guys, how for the next 6 weeks none of will know with any certainty if and when Daniela's matches will be delayed. :?

Let's Go, Daniela!

Could have done with an earlier start but Daniela's already played on Court 1 so she'll be used to the conditions there. I hope she doesn't have to hang around too long and that the weather is decent.

Feuerstein had a decent win in the first round against Govortsova and she lost to Giorgi on a third set tiebreak in Strasbourg last week so she's playing reasonably well and she'll be confident and have home support. Feuerstein plays ITF and qualifying and most of the time she plays on clay. Daniela has to respect her and she has to bring her best tennis.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Venus and Serena, lost in the 2nd round today

Kerber just beat Lepchenko 62 75 so that is who Daniela would face if Daniela beats Feurstein today.

Pennetta also lost but Bouchard won so this quarter is really shaping up to be anyone's for the taking although Kerber was very impressive today.

To be honest if Daniela can make round 3 I'll be overjoyed.

Berdych is making a right hash in his match, and it's raining now only to get harder later...Daniela may not get on court at all today..

I think it will be very important this first game, Dani will be happy to save 5 BP already and certainly Claire will be furious for not taking the opportunity. We'll see with her service game now.

The kids in the crowd are really loud and irritating making silly sounds just as she throws the ball up, Daniela's getting pissed off but she's playing solid so far...

Amazing defense from Daniela and passing shot 5-1

Excellent solid play from Daniela 6-1 4-1 very few UEs but needs to be careful...Feurstein playing much more carefree and smacking the ball...4-2 FOCUS DANIELA

This is getting edgy...

6-1 5-4 Daniela serving for it, PLEASE DANIELA.

Excellent win! Slightly edgy towards the end but she held strong when she needed to.

Kerber next will be a whole different story...but at least weather might be a bit nicer which should give Daniela a bit more pop on her serve and return.

At least Daniela's showing up for Grand Slams, since US Open last year :)

All we need is for Sharapova to lose and today will be the most perfect day in tennis!
