The draw is out. Daniela's got Lepchenko or a qualifier in the 2nd round then Azarenka in the 3rd round...Vika has been injured so may be out of form. 4th round would be Flipkens or Vinci so aside from Vika not a bad draw at all. 3rd round would be nice... |

Nice to be talking about draws instead of ligaments or whacky foreign leagues. Leery of rust, the opponent having already played, and lack of success at Indian Wells in recent years, I'll be OK with one win here. But should Daniela choose to take it further, I will certainly understand! |

It's a decent enough draw. Daniela beat Lepchenko in three sets when they played in the Australian Open two years ago. There are some decent players in qualifying so Daniela could face a qualifier. Azarenka would be tough in the third round although she's coming back from injury just like Daniela. If Daniela gets past her then the draw opens up but she has to focus on winning her first match and she has to take it one match at a time. Hopefully, Daniela's fully recovered from her knee injury and can do herself justice. |

Daniela's playing doubles with Arantxa Parra-Santonja, just like Sydney, and it seems like Parra-Santonja is Daniela's new partner, at least for the moment. They start against Janette Husarova & Vera Zvonareva and they could play Hingis & Lisicki in the second round. Daniela's singles match is going to be on Friday. |

Lepchenko won 6-2 6-2 against Van Uytvanck so she's Daniela's opponent in the second round. |

Daniela's the first match on Stadium 4, play starting at 11 am. Her doubles match is third on Stadium 9 after suitable rest. |

Astounded to see that Lepchenko has 358 career wins and no official titles. Whether she makes it 359 tomorrow or not, I feel for those who are as diehard fans of hers as we are for Daniela. At least we have had 6 wonderful days to celebrate over the years. And I'd rather see career win 516 tomorrow! |

To be honest I just hope Daniela can play the whole match injury free. Lepchenko can be really tough. She gave Halep a really good match in Australia. Hopefully Daniela can enjou competing out there and come away with the win. |

So much will depend on how fit Daniela is. She's fit enough to play although it's still a question how match fit she is. She's playing doubles so she must feel okay although this will be a tough match. Lepchenko had a good win in the first round, she's been playing fairly well this year and she gave Daniela a tough match at the Australian Open in 2012 so this won't be easy. Slovak duo has now been almost a month after the Bratislava Fed Cup match against German women due to the infirmary right knee. "We still do not have it wholly state. Actually, I just started playing about a week ago, so it is certainly a tennis or health is not where I would have wished it to be. However, this is a tournament that just can not completed.'s My matter of the heart, so I'm here and I will do everything to make him able to play in the best possible conditions," noted Hantuchova, who had at first cycling off and on Friday the 2nd round from 20:00 CET encounters with domestic reprezentantkou Varvara Lepčenkovou. @ google translate. |
