What Is The Necker Cup?

The Necker Cup is five-day, all inclusive world class Pro-Am Tennis Event on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island in The British Virgin Islands. This year’s event is scheduled for November 12-16th.

Sixteen (16) ATP / WTA Tour Players/Legends are paired up with sixteen (16) amateur teams of all levels, who compete in this fun and spirited tennis event. A handicapped scoring format makes it competitive for every player. Teams consist of one pro and up to two amateurs. Teams compete to win their bracket and earn a chance to play in the Necker Cup Finals.

As well as great tennis, participants engage in typical Necker Island activities like paddle boarding, sail boat races, kite boarding (Sir Richard’s favorite), wake boarding, snorkeling, massage therapy, beach tennis, parties and more.

Play with ATP/WTA Pros and Legends like Rafael Nadal, Ana Ivanovic, Stefan Edberg, Daniela Hantuchova, Martina Navratilova, Petra Kvitova and more.

Format & Rules
A handicapped scoring format making it competitive for all tennis levels. Teams consist of one pro and up to two amateurs. Teams compete to win their Bracket and earn a chance to play in the Necker Cup Final!

The Cause
A portion of Event Profits and 100% of all Auction proceeds go to Virgin Unite, The National Tennis Foundation, and other leading ATP player 501 (c)(3) charities.

Wouldn't worry about it. :lol:

I was hoping there would be a picture of Daniela and Stefan Edberg together(hopefully one will surface soon) so I was scouring the twitterverse very carefully,and the whole event seems to have been a 5 day booze-up,with ocassional bouts of tennis!

Can't imagine whoever ended up with Spadea would have been overjoyed. I wonder who cancelled. Let's be honest, whoever did end up with those guys would probably drown their sorrows with the finest champagne by the pool. Boo hoo! My sympathy doesn't extend that far. Although if it was me and my partner would be either Daniela or Russell or Spadea and it ended up being one of those guys, I'd be pretty pissed off.
