oh right. They are 9 hours behind. I forgot it was on the west coast. And I think it is just the qualifying draw that is out today.

Here's her half of the draw:

Petrova-Cibulkova (should be a good one)
K. Bondarenko-Harkleroad
Sugiyama-Glatch
Daniela bye

Bartoli-Amanmuradova
Mirza-Q
Peer-Q
Chakvetadze-Bye

She's definitely in the right half of the draw with Serena, Vera, Lindsay and Patty on the other side. Though Ai could be tough in round two, it's overall a very good draw. If Daniela's right, she could get to the final here. Remember she has SF points to defend, the only points she has to defend all summer.

as much as I like Sugiyama, I know she is a tricky opponent for Daniela, so I kind of hope for the other player to beat Ai.

It's a reasonable enough draw. I think that how well Daniela does depends a lot on her fitness and also how confident she feels in her fitness. If Daniela plays at or near her best, she can beat anyone in her half of the draw, but she's short of match practice while players like Petrova and Bondarenko have had some good recent results.
Ai's the likely opponent in Daniela's first match and she'll be tough, although Daniela should have beaten her in Miami and Daniela was hampered by the heel injury in that match. It's a fairly hard first match but the draw is decent enough and Daniela can go on a good run here, but given Daniela's recent injury and the time she's missed, the priority should be a good performance and a clean bill of health with everything else being a bonus.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

It's a good draw, and i'm glad she is in Anna's half as apose to Serena's. However I would have prefered her to have been in Schnyder's, Bartoli's or Schiavone's quarter, rather than Petrova's because the Russian could be tough in the quarter-finals if she gets past Cibulkova in R1. I can't see Daniela losing to Ai again, so i think it will be at least a quarter-final showing. Justifying her seeding and equaling last year's performance is possible though, and if she were able to get to this stage then she would probably get to the final since there are no major threats in the bottom quarter of the draw.

Will she play doubles will Lindsay? or maybe even Ai, seen as Katarina is not at this tournament.

I'm happy with this draw. Let's wait and see how Daniela is prepared and how good she is able to play.

Im pretty happy with the draw, despite Ai being the most likely oppo in the 2nd round. She has certainly come out in the better half of the draw but my philosophy will still be the same going into this one and that will be one win, and id be happy

I have it bookmarked. Daniela is practicing on court 4 btw. At least it looks to be her.

Is that her? It does look a little like her, not sure though. Ive just been flicking through and I think they need to clean the camera on courts 5 & 6. There was a massive spider walking across the court 6 camera when i last looked :o
