Try and you might be able to get commentary from the US Open site.

Quarter-final:

0-1, Daniela broken to 0.
1-1, Daniela breaks back to 0.
1-2, Daniela broken after being 40-30 up, Azarenka won the next 3 points. Daniela served 2 aces.
1-3, Azarenka holds on her 2nd GP after one deuce.
2-3, Daniela holds to 30, served an ace and a DF.
2-4, Azarenka holds to 30, Daniela was 15-30.
2-5, Daniela broken to 0. Azarenka's groundstrokes are ominously good right now.
2-6, Azarenka serves out to 15.

Well, only one way to go after that game.

Apparently there's under 1,000 people in the stadium right now... with 10-15K outside...

Daniela's got to convert any game points she has, a shame she got broken again, especially after two aces 1-2.

Azarenka already playing ten times better tonight than against Ivanovic.

40-0 and now 40-30 YES HOLDS 2-3

A mini opportunity at 15-30 but Azarenka is so clutch when it matters...

Azarenka playing amazing, breaks to love 2-5, Daniela is playing well, getting lots of balls back and moving well but Azarenka has all the answers.

Daniela needs to try and stay on court for as long as possible, she lost the first set back in 2011 to Vika and turned it around by not going away, Daniela needs to do that again.

2-6

Daniela just needs to focus on holding serve. Daniela can still do this. The last rally (even though she lost) was much better.

Azarenka barely made any mistakes, only 6 UE.

2nd Set

Comon Daniela hold here and you can get back into this.

1-0 Much better, holds to 0
2-0 YES NOW YOU MUST HOLD
Daniela's got to get her first serves in and hard
2-1 broken to 15, disappointing, going for the lines too much, but that's what Vika makes you feel you have to do. Daniela is still not serving well enough, get those first serves in, maybe take a bit of pace off it.
2-2
2-3 Damn, this isn't looking good. From 0-40 to deuce playing sublime and then 2 double faults from Daniela. Such a shame to give up that game.
2-4 Daniela going for way too much, Daniela just needs to grind it out, make Vika win every point.
2-5 Daniela just not positioning herself well enough for backhand down the lines, but that's due to the amazing return games from Azarenka

Right, the fightback starts here.

I actually think that Vika having played night matches already on Ashe really helps here.

3-5 Daniela breaks courtesy of a double fault COMON
3-6 Couldn't force Vika to try and serve it out again. :(

Azarenka's playing very well at the moment, dictating the rallies and hitting a lot of winners. Daniela will keep fighting and she won't give up. In both her previous top 10 wins this year she lost the first set before coming back to win.

Well, since we learned today that Dani has the record for most 3 set matches, she might as well add one more. If she can only find a way to get the fans behind her.

Let's Go, Daniela!

2nd set:

1-0, Daniela holds to 0.
2-0, Daniela breaks on her 2nd GP after Azarenka DFs. Daniela hit some amazing shots that game, especially a beautiful drop shot.
2-1, Daniela broken to 15, she just missed on the last 2 points in that game.
2-2, Azarenka holds to 30.
2-3, Daniela came back from 0-40 to deuce but then served 2 DFs.
2-4, Azarenka holds to 30.
2-5, Azarenka breaks on her 2nd BP.
3-5, Daniela breaks to 30 after Azarenka DFs.
3-6, Azarenka breaks to 15.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Azarenka had too much today. I've never seen Daniela move so well, a lot of the rallies were very high quality and even when Daniela raised her level to go 2-0 up Azarenka just pulled the reins and barely gave any free points until 2-5. Daniela sometimes went for slightly crazy winners but I think she had to today.

I actually think Daniela will learn a lot from this match, and it will help her in future tournaments.

I would have loved to have seen Daniela hold to go 3-0 up in the 2nd set and of course 3-5 in the 2nd set. That's the difference at the moment. If Daniela had consolidated that break then the momentum may have stayed with Daniela.

All in all it wasn't meant to be. But Daniela has got to take so many positives from these past 10 days.

A fantastic tournament from Daniela and will be ranked at least no.31.

I think Azarenka deserves to get to the final but I think Flavia will take a set off her.

Well done Daniela, I've thoroughly enjoyed this US OPEN so I raise my glass and say 3 cheers.

I definitely think a Grand Slam Final is within Daniela's capabilities. I hope Daniela feels that too. :hearts:

What can you do? Daniela clearly wasn't serving well enough, but even when she did hit a good one, they all came back. I honestly believe she could have beaten a decent number of people tonight, but certainly not #2. We will remember this US Open with great fondness. Daniela rose to the challenge, and so many positives came out of this. I can't remember so many articles written about her in any tourney, and all were favourable to her. The ranking finally rose like we have waited for all year. I am so darn proud of Daniela right now. I think we all are. Thanks so much, Dani, for thrilling us so much these past ten days. In fact, thanks, Daniela, just for being you! :)

Let's Go, Daniela!

This really has been a damn good tournament by Daniela. She beat players that Stosur, Petrova, Barthel & Kvitova couldn't and she showed incredible will and skill to comeback from the dead against Glushko. Daniela won some greats points with absolutely wonderful shots but Azarenko played very well tonight and she put Daniela under a lot of pressure in rallies and was able to hit winners of her own or force errors from Daniela, plus Azarenka's return of serve was very good. I wonder what would have happened if Daniela had held at 2-2 in the second when she came back from 0-40.

Every winner by Daniela got cheered but you just heard crickets whenever Azarenka won a point.

That's the shame of it all. You could tell how the crowd wanted to really raise the roof for Daniela.

One wonders what would have happened had Ivanovic managed to pull out that match last night. . .

She beat who she should beat. I find it hard to get enthusiastic about a performance where she won more games by breaking than by serving. Sorry ,but I'm very disappointed right now-this was her chance.
