This is basically a chance for Daniela to get a bit of match practice, get used to the conditions in Australia and it would be lovely for her to win. It'll be nice for her and she can enjoy herself. A few articles about the exhibition: Palmer, the guy who named the resort after himself, built a giant T-Rex on the resort golf course and hates Tiger Woods: So there you go. |

More rain expected on Monday in Brisbane, not sure this match is gunna get played  Does anyone know what Daniela's Australian Tournaments are going to be? She's on the main draw list for Brisbane but not on either main or qualifying list for Sydney. (She actually misses the main draw cut for Sydney by one place as cut off is U. Radwanska at no.31.) Maybe she's waiting for a withdrawal as she's next in... I was kinda hoping she'd play in Hobart as the field is pretty weak and she has a good chance of getting lost of points there). According to twitter, Gadjosova won 61 75..

I know this is basically a knockabout and there's the chance that Daniela let the "local" player win but it's just depressing that Daniela's constantly losing and some of the players that she's lost to recently are people she should beat pretty easily. Daniela has so many points to defend over the next couple of months and it's going to be very difficult for her to defend her Brisbane points given how strong the field is there and she needs to defend them to get a seeding for the Australian Open. Still, Daniela's got so much talent that she has to start playing well again sometime and she hardly has any points to defend after February, so if she can put some runs together then she can go up the rankings again. One thing is that Daniela always seems to do better in odd years and next year is an odd year so hopefully the pattern holds. |

I doubt Daniela took a match played on Christmas Eve that seriously. But the next few weeks could be ugly. Just need a sign that her game hasn't deteriorated beyond repair......

I'll wait a day or two to weigh in on Daniela's dilemma. Right now, I want to thank her for all the things she does that do make us happy and proud to be her fans and wish her a Merry Christmas and a happy 2013. And I do the same for all of you, my Forum friends! |
