Daniela's done consistently well over the past year but she hasn't put in a good run in a mandatory premier and she also went out in the first round of the US Open so she's left a lot of points on the board there. Goerges and Kerber are above her but they've mainly had good runs at a few tournaments (Stuttgart, Madrid and Dubai for Goerges and US Open, Paris and here for Kerber) but crucially tournaments where lots of points are available. Daniela had 3 top 5 wins last year, Ivanovic has had 2 top 5 wins since Roland Garros 08. Under the previous ranking system with quality points Daniela would be ranked a lot higher, I saw a calculation that she'd have been 15 after Cincinnati last year under the previous system. We can't bemoan the way ranking are calculated (even though I just did), Daniela has to go out and play well and get wins to go up the rankings. The crucial thing is that Daniela stays fit because if she'd been fully fit over the past year she'd have done a lot better and be ranked higher.
