Didn't hold serve once in the opening set. Very dissapointing.
What a difference from Indian Wells 2007 where she beat Schiavone 6-2 7-6[3].

i think we have to see the next tournaments as a preparation for 2009 without expectations atm
finding her old form back and start playing like in 2007 again next season.

Schiavone breaks Daniela for the second time in the set and now leads 6-5. Daniela must break to stay in the match.

0-30 on Schiavone's serve - a BIG opportunity here to get back in the match.

Schiavone has won, 6-1 7-5. Three straight games to take the match from 4-5 down. Daniela had 15-40 in Schiavone's last service game but couldn't convert. The Italian won four straight points, and had a particularly bad first serve percentage in that final game too! Big dissapointment, losing in the opeing round. Her top-twenty ranking is now seriously under threat.

missing two setpoints at 4-5 , missing to breakpoints at 6-5 ...

converting break points and holding serve it will never go hand in hand with Daniela

at least she fight back in the second but another early exit
