It's going to take a monumental effort to win from here. Really should have won that first. Errani evidently wants revenge and is playing inspired tennis.

Im glad we can't watch this. Seems like another epic. Comon Daniela fight and force this to a 3rd. Gotta say Daniela has got to stop playing doubles outside the slams. If she was fresher she could have won this already..amazing! 2nd set to Daniela 7-5, gotta hope that Errani's serve is getting tired.

Meanwhile Azarenka is 60 40 up on McHale, lol, Azarenka d McHale 60 60 in just over an hour..

Errani d Hantuchova 75 57 62 Daniela fought well but and she was a break up 2-1 in the second and 40-15 but from then on it was Errani all the way. Definitely think the doubles last night took it out of her. Daniela's got be selfish and pull out of doubles if she's having a good singles tournament, or not enter the doubles at all.

Daniela needed this win so much more than Errani but it wasn't to be. Still a very good week.

What's the next tournament for Daniela?

She will be in the Dubai qualifiers, unless something changes.

Urgh. Seeing Daniela losing to Errani is like having your fingernails slowly pulled out-especially when she had her chances to win. :wall:

Good to be optimistic but the qualifying draw is going to be brutal, thanks to her low ranking. Plus she is defending QF points here.

Well, there was no stream, but getting broken 9 times by Errani doesn't look good on the face of it. Didn't hold serve once in the final set-and her first serve % was quite good at 66 percent. :|

it's a shame she cannot seem to sustain some kind of form for longer than a set. Hope she can turn it around.

I really thought she's going to win...but I know Sara will do a revenge from her lost in Aussie...I really want her to win because all players left were top player and it is good to see Dani is with them but I'm happy for what she has donw this week...We all thought she will lose in R1...
Atleast she's still in doubles..way to go Dani... :D

on her next tournament I'm kinda nervous she will be in qualifying..I dint want to happen to her what happened to Schiavone

Hey, if we thought it was a rough one for Dani, how do you think McHale feels? A double bagel jammed down her throat, and a combined 4 set singles/doubles 24-3! (I'm still mad that she beat Dani 2 years ago, so none of this bothers me, particularly the doubles.)
This loss, while not easy to swallow, isn't all that depressing to me. Daniela showed her usual fighting spirit in the 2nd. I might think that she simply petered out in the last 5 games. Yeah, some of that might be attributed to playing doubles, but let us remember that, after her return last June, her only real run came in Luxembourg. Counting Fed Cup, she played 5 matches in 6 days, which is exactly what would happen in any regular tourney that she would reach the final, then add on the travel in between. It's been 12 months since her last final in Thailand. If she felt she was at peak fitness, our American trainer would not be in the picture. So I feel she simply hit the wall in the 3rd, and maybe in a few weeks, barring injury, Dani will be more up to 5 in 6 days. If cutting out doubles was the preventative measure, then how do we explain last night's doubles blowout coming hours after the grueling match with Sara?
IMHO, I have no problem with Daniela doing doubles. We should actually feel good that she believes she can handle both singles and doubles in most tourneys; a good sign to me. With so many 1st round exits over the last months, Dani needs matches. Doubles allows her extra matches in a more fun, less pressurized environment, yet there's still at least a little at stake. That's a lot better to me than more demanding, tedious practices that she'd be taking on without the extra doubles matches.
That said, I can hardly believe the doubles results here. When I saw Daniela and Anibel on TV in Melbourne, I thought they had the same smoothness and chemistry as the Keystone Kops! Now, 2nd time together, they're killing people, including the accomplished Huber. We'll know more, of course, after they go up against Errani/Vinci. Should they somehow pull that off, it could create a Daniela Dilemma, as a doubles final probably is on the same day as Dubai qualifiers. And as for that, the mere thought of our gal in what you guys call quallies depresses me. Plus it severly limits the chance that she can reach a quarter and defend last year's points, which would negate the upward movement from this week. Realistically, her Climb will actually commence in Kuala Lampur and hopefully Indian Wells and Miami.

Let's Go, Daniela!

I missed all of Daniela's singles action in the tournament with flu which kept me in bed for the past few days. Daniela had a very good win against Robson and followed that up with a solid win against Bychkova. It's such a pity that Daniela didn't win against Errani especially as she had the chances to do so but then again Errani would have had the benefit of all sorts of PEDs from Dr Garcia Del Moral. Errani just got a doing from Azarenka.

Daniela & Medina Garrigues have been doing really well in the doubles this tournament and Daniela has an early chance of revenge against Errani in the doubles. We'll see what happens in the doubles because Daniela and Medina Garrigues are both in qualifying for Dubai. Daniela starts against Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic. It is shocking that Daniela's in qualifying and she isn't even seeded but Paszek & Suarez Navarro are in qualifying and they're both top 30 and Kuzetsova is in qualifying as well.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Daniela and Medina Garrigues lost 13-11 in the Supertiebreak to Errani & Vinci. Fuck that.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

What? :!: Fill me in, Benji. Did Dani do it in full view of the public? Almost making #1 bite the dust had me excited (even if I find out there were missed match points). Now, a display of Passion, Passion, Passion! Loving it.
Also, now that we know Fed Cup wins count in the career total, do qualies?

Let's Go, Daniela!
