There is a lot of rain expected on Friday in New York because of Hurricane Earl, so it's doubtful Daniela plays until Saturday.

That would be great for Daniela 2 days off. Elena might hate it.

I'm kinda glad i didn't have the stamina to get up early for this match... seems it was a pretty hard one to watch.

It's a scoreline i half expected. Vania and Daniela's matches have been close this year and the conditions were always going to make it tough for a nice clean victory - although it's discouraging to hear of Daniela not taking her chances in that first set!

I don't hate Daniela's chances against Elena. While her victory over her this year was tainted by Elena's injury she also played well against her in Sydney, where Elena was really the player to watch. She's had a decent preparation as well... two hard fought matches against quality opponents and an easy win in the doubles.

Daniela should be confident, and that's the key ingredient to any player performing well.

After seeing a three set scoreline and knowing how Daniela loves to put us on the edge of our seats at times in matches I get the feeling that I should be glad I was at the football rather than watching this one. She got the result though and now has a nothing to lose match against Dementieva who she has a pretty decent record against. The win in the doubles is always pleasing, especially considering the score line. An enjoyable and quick match to get through and build confidence even higher for her third round singles tie.

So basically you are marrying yourself... :D

Im sorry Daniela dont have such a luck like Cibulkova. Li na lost in 1st round and her whole draw is opened to the 4th round and her potential opponent in the 4th is Kuznetsova, who is quite unsteady player as well right now :/

Daniela has in the 3rd round one of the toughest opponents she could get :(

If Daniela wants to match Dementieva or even win, she will have to bring her best tennis. Daniela pls surprise us and do it! :D

from Facebook

After my singles I went to play doubles as well. It was quick - we won, 60 62. It's always fun to play with Caroline and that's what doubles is about. Today was a very hot day and I'm quite tired now. I'm getting a massage and trying to recover for my next match, which will be on Friday. I'll get back to you all tomorrow. Goodnight everybody!

Good to see how much I think of Daniela when a 4-11 h2h is considered "pretty decent." But as I'm not doing anything here's what I used to do...

"Elena is very experienced and hard, I played against him. Everything runs virtually nothing spoil, plays awfully hard and fast. I will have to bring my best tennis if I want to beat," augured Daniela Hantuchova SITA after Wednesday's triumph 5 : 7, 6:3, 6:4 in the second round of domestic and Vania King added: "winning here really wants me ... alone ... in heavy fighting something but it is now possible advantage: after those last two will be better prepared, tested me. He made me wait, is the battles for which one trains and plays tennis for example. pronouncedly are looking forward to it. I see this as a good challenge."

"It was a drama in extremely difficult conditions, one of the hottest days this summer. It is for these games are worth hard 'graft' - that I was in training in Florida, is reflected. Perhaps in the was a key advantage. I was more accustomed to. The game was longer, and just simply better for me, I'm told. At the end decide about the physical forces. I tried Vania rozbehávať from side to side to the more weary. In this weather, it is perhaps for all. You do not invent much, just keep them moving. certainly was an important and active my game. When I accepted is the King, so I do not have absolute. Ocitala I have two meters for the baseline and just I defend what is obviously not my style is. However, when I was promoted aggression, it was completely on another."

Carlos Cuadrado Zverenkyňa Hantuchova again took a bandage on the right thigh: "Today was okay, but maybe the fact that it compensates for the movement subconsciously, I began to feel a little foot. Physiotherapists I look at it. On Thursday, just get through easier training and hope that I will be ready for another fight. It is important to me to get good rest, thoroughly regenerated."

Is the translation correct with the comment about "foot", or is it referring to the leg muscle that she had strapped...really hope it's not the dreaded foot injury again...
