I don't think I can handle the pressure for now. I will leave this for a while and watch TV.

Razzano holds serve and now leads 4-2*. I hope this match isn't slipping away from Daniela...

A poor start to the 7th game; Daniela double faults, and instantly gives Razzano a 15-0 advantage. If Razzano breaks here then its game over.

*0-15, 15-15, 30-15, 30-30, 30-40, GAME RAZZANO (2-5*)
0-15*, 0-30, 15-30, 15-40 (2 match points), 30-40 (match point), GAME RAZZANO (2-6)

Razzano goes through to the quarter-finals, winning 6-2 1-6 6-2.

I said at the start of the tournament that despite the draw, getting to the quarter-finals would be tough for Daniela simply because it would involve winning three matches in a row which she hasn't done in a long time. At the moment she is no where near consistent enough to get deep into tournaments (whether its an international or premier event, or grand slam). She had a good opportunity to get to the quarter-finals and play a top-five player for the first time this year, and that would have really tested her game and shown where she was at. Unfortunately, Razzano was the better player today, and claims an extra 90 ranking points (200 to Daniela's 110). At least Daniela was able to win two matches, but the fact is they were both over much weaker players than herself, and players ranked outside the top-fifty. At the moment it seems Daniela is unable to beat anyone inside the top-50. She has not beaten a top-50 player since Moscow 2008 (where she beat qualifer Schiavone, then ranked 23 in the world).

I guess it is over. Such a shame when she played such a good second set and just one break in the third let her completely down.

That was an annoying match to follow on the scoreboard. Plenty of opportunities in both the first and third set, but just couldn't convert. She was up 0-30 on two of Razzano's service games in the third set, and the bird clawed her way back.

Oh Daniela! That elusive three-streak winning match is still beyond reach.

It's urgent now that Daniela do something about her consistency throughout the match. She can never come back in ranking with just being able to play good in one set of each match. Until now, mostly she played just one good set and bad for the other. When her opponent was just average, she could manage to get through. But if her opponent was good or on fire, she lost. That is just so ridiculous and shameful.

I didn't get to watch the score board. Just saw the result. Pretty disappointing. Don't really wanna comment on it. Lol.

She really need to do something with her consistency.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the last one she had a 3-winning streak is in IW 2008 right?

I agree with dani-fan. She seems to be VERY ENERGETIC in a set, then she will VERY BAD in the other set. Normally, if Daniela enter a 3rd set game, I will go away because I got the feeling that she will not win.

Probably her serves is pretty bad today. So, I hope Danka do something or perhaps in the future she going to be 3RD HIGHEST RANK SLOVAK Player after Cibulkova and Rybarikova. No offense, I like Rybarikova and a little bit Cibulkova but Hantuchova is my favorite of all-times.

Wish you prevail in other tournament Danka. We here will always support you! :slovakia:

I remember myself posting 3-4 days ago that " third round is the best Daniela can do in this tournament " but i said that because i thought it was going to be Safina on her way. So its very disappointing that Daniela wasted the chance to reach the q-finals.

Statistics indicate bad serve but the most important thing is the fact that Daniela lost 5 games in a row at 1st and 3rd set while leading 2-1 at both of them !
I dont know how to explain these huge "dead periods" at her game.
You can call it as "another mental breakdown" or you can say that Daniela was unlucky
to lose 1-2 crucial points that might had turned things around, the choice is yours....

Overall, i think that this tournament is representing Daniela’s level right now.
She can win players like Morita, Zakopalova, Makarova etc but that’s it.
Hope she changes that at IW and Miami.
