Hantuchova: The arm is not optimal, but I upload a maximum of

BRATISLAVA - Slovak tennis player Daniela Hantuchova moved into one of two sites, which have won singles titles at major professional level. Twice champion of Indian Wells, California this week after training in Bratislava on Saturday, will travel to Linz, Austria.

"Moving is no tomorrow, because on Saturday organize a party to invite all the winners from previous seasons. Is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the tournament. Certainly it will be a nice evening," said Daniela Hantuchova for the SITA.

Slovak unit had during the Asian minitour 1:2 balance due and health problems for which they had in Tokyo, down from a duel with veteran home-Kimiko Dateovou Krummovou. In Beijing, the beam already at home against Slovene Polone Hercogová. "This arm is certainly not optimal and still I have to save it. We'll see how it will be at the tournament. Of course, I will try to deliver maximum," said 27-year native Poprad that by the end of the season still present from 18 October for the next indoor event in Luxembourg and then - on the basis of free cards from the organizers - the so-called early November. Small Cup WTA Tour on the Indonesian island of Bali.

"Participation in Bali I offered last year. Then I did it for the overall fatigue after a hard season declined with thanks, and felt I would be stupid if I did it again - and given that this is indeed a very prestigious tournament and will have a really great cast. Competition is very strong. I appreciate that I was again approached, there was already looking forward. The Bali is a wonderful environment and it certainly will be a pleasant event at the end of the season, a little longer and relax," noted D. Hantuchova.

1st round against katarina bondarenko is very tough for opening match.

Kateryna Bondarenko's a decent enough opener. Her form this year has been pretty average and she's got a losing record for the year, although she did have a knee injury that caused her to miss a few months. She did beat LI Na at the US Open and Kvitova in New Haven and most of the players that have beaten her have been good players although she lost to Jovanovski in Beijing.
Daniela's beaten Bondarenko both times they've played.

The draw after Bondarenko is pretty decent and a fit and in-form Daniela would expect to go deep into this tournament. At the same time, Hercog's form was poor when Daniela played her in Beijing, Daniela's arm is still bothering her and we don't know how focused she'll be given what else is happening in her life. Given everything that's been going wrong for Daniela recently I'll just take things one match at a time.

Daniela beat a Bondarenko on the way to the title in 2007.

I would like to think Daniela will have enough in the tank to come through against Bondarenko. I don't know if she's got enough in her at the end of this year to make a run at the title but we'll just have to see how the draw pans out and who gets through. As for Williams, she has a pretty easy draw to semi-finals and, despite being out since Wimbledon, she's still tournament favourite.

If Daniela plays solid indoor tennis, as she knows, she can beat everyone. I'm not sure that Serena will reach till the Final.

I just hope I'll be able to watch Daniela live, as I'll be in Linz on Wednesday and Thursday.
So my only threat is that Daniela will play her first and last match on Tuesday.

But I'm confident :?

Post subject:  Re: Generali Ladies Linz

Ivanovic had a pretty good past week in Beijing so could do well here considering the weaker field. I wonder whether Serena was ever convinced that she would play. She hadn't even flown over to Europe when she made the decision to withdraw because of a 'physical problem'. Still, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference to Daniela. That shift was in the top-half and at the moment it seems less than likely than Daniela will make it to the final, but then she enjoys the indoor season and her potential match-ups are certainly winnable...

What a pity they didnt place Daniela in Serenas spot in the draw, now when Serena withdrew...

Can't believe Ivanovic's luck. She got LL Cirstea who is even losing at 25k tourneys.
