Another thing that wouldn't have helped was that the Fed Cup had a late ending on Sunday night and Daniela would have had to have spent pretty much all of Monday on a plane so she wouldn't have had too much time for recuperation or to acclimatise to very different conditions.

Having said that, Daniela still was 2 points away from winning but she lost another tiebreak and her tiebreak record has really hurt her so much over the last year, I thinks she's only won 1 out of 10 since her comeback. Daniela won the match where she won the tiebreak against Zheng in Cincinnati, but in the matches where she lost the tiebreak, she lost the match.

So Schiavone, nearly 33 years old, ended up the victor here. It's her 6th title. We know another 30 year old looking for her 6th title. Why Not?
