FINAL SET TIE-BREAK (ZVONAREVA TO SERVE FIRST) HAN 0-0* ZVO 1-0 (mini-break lead for Daniela) 1-1 1-2 (mini-break lead for Vera) 2-2 2-3 3-3 4-3 (Daniela holds both of her service points, and is now just three points away from the win) 4-4 5-4 (mini-break lead for Daniela; just two points away now) 6-4 (two match points for Daniela; just the one point needed) 6-5 (Daniela loses the mini-break lead, but still has a match point remaining) 7-5 (Daniela wins on her second match point!) Incredible performance! Beating a top-ten player, and even after losing the second set 6-0! An odd score-line but who cares, Daniela goes through 7-6[6] 0-6 7-6[5] in 2 hours 50 minutes. She must be burning a serious amount of calories these days! Up next in the quarter-finals: Flavia Pennetta! |

SHE DID IT. SHE BEAT ZVONAREVA. Go Danka. What a win, even though it isn't Vera at her best. Beating a player who has been troubling her a lot in the past and a top 10 player. Wuhu |

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE WIN!!!!!! I can't believe she found the mental toughness against someone like Vera Zvonareva - I think the best win of her career since Indian Wells Final 2007 - AO semi was amazing but she didn't beat anyone higher ranked than her! Sorry i doubted her - but what an absolutely incredible win - i hope someone has taken smiling pictures... Anywaym hopefully Daniela can have a quick doubles match tonight...she must be so delighted with herself. |

and she is getting closer to the top20 again. I have her projected at 1979 points for next week. Cirstea right behind her with 1926 points, Cirstea plays Dementieva for a place in the quarters. Schnyder takes up the 20th spot in the projected ranking with 2127 points. Li number 19 with 2132 points. |
