Good draw.

1r Q/L
2r Q/L vs Q/L
3r Azarenka
4r Pavluchenkova/Kanepi

Similar draw to Australia, let's hope with a better result :)

Azarenka retired from her match yesterday so could lose early...

My gosh, best wimbledon draw she's ever had! Please take advantage!

Very happy with the draw. 3rd round, for me anyway, is always the minimum, anything after that is a bonus, and with two qualifiers standing in her way you would expect 3rd round at the very least. Doubles draw is out also, Daniela is teaming up with Agnieszka Radwanska again, seeded 13th, and they will play the Austrian pair of Sandra Klemenschits & Tamira Paszek

This is a really good draw. Daniela will be playing on Monday as she's in the opposite half of the draw to Serena Williams and the defending champion always starts on Tuesday. I'd have liked an extra day between Eastbourne and Wimbledon to give Daniela more time to prepare and rest her shoulder. Daniela should get through the first couple of rounds easily enough and she'll be confident against Azarenka as she beat her in Doha this year plus her recent wins will have given her so much confidence. Hopefully, her shoulder doesn't give her any problems and she's fit and ready for this and doesn't have any letdown. This draw's given Daniela a good chance to go on a run but she still has to go out and win the matches.

Hantuchova refused to accept the formulation that the start of Wimbledon is threatened: "I would not say. If the only one per cent chance to start. I'll do everything that I was in the best condition. Never would I not expect that I will say this, but terribly, I hope that it will rain on Monday. Each extra day would be good." Hantuchova since last week reported on problems with the right arm. She said that she spends 2.5 hours a day with a physiotherapist and she said that taking anti-inflammatory drugs.
@ google translate.
That sounds ominous, I just hope that Daniela's going to be okay.

"It's not great; that's for sure" said Hantuchova of the injury. "It happened at 3-0 in the first set. I was running for a wide backhand and kind of felt a sharp pain and just was getting worse and worse from then.
"I will now hope for some magic and get as much treatment as I can. I am seeing the doctor now, and as soon as I come to Wimbledon I will try to work with the physios and try to do something to be able to be ready for Monday."

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

And now the abdomen. Will it be better if she withdraws? She can have a great summer if she rests this up and continues her form later.

I don't think a herd of wild horses could drag Daniela away from playing Wimbledon, but it will be a huge gamble.

I don't want her to gamble it. This has "achilles heel situation" written all over it.

Hope Im wrong.

Even if Daniela were to take a break and not play until Stanford it's unlikely that she'd return in the form that she's shown over the past couple of months. At the moment she's riding a wave. If she is given the OK to play then of course she should, as long as there is no chance of longer-term damage. Azarenka retired for the FOURTH time this year in Eastbourne and is by no means a certainty to reach the third round. Daniela has a great draw and, even with reduced confidence given her injury, could go deep into this slam and extend her excellent recent form.

If you read daniela's twitter and facebook updates that she wrote about 11pm tonight she sounds a lot more upbeat about things so that's really encouraging. Bartoli had a bad injury a day before the french open and still reached the semis so there is hope. The test will be how she feels tomorrow. Also do we know which qualifier daniela got? Praying it's not pliskova..

1r Daniela vs Diachenko
2r vs Erakovic or Chang
