This is a good win by Daniela as Date-Krumm was a potentially tricky opponent witht a good record against Daniela but Daniela won in straight sets. It was a quick match, Daniela's stats are good and this should be a nice boost to her confidence.

A lot of the players around Daniela in the rankings lost as well so she can get a big rankings boost from this tournament.

The last time Daniela beat Date-Krumm she won the tournament.

Very important points and a win today vis-a-vis the rankings and seeding for Roland Garros. now have Daniela ranked 32rd. Given that both Williamses are expected to miss Roland Garros and that Clijsters is still iffy, Daniela has a very good chance to be seeded now.

It might be preferable for Daniela to be unseeded and to risk the draw than to be one of the last four seedings and therefore be drawn to meet one of the very top seeds in the R32. Of course if she has a good run this week or next then she could propel herself well into the mid-20s in the rankings anyway, but if not a seeding around the 30 mark looks likely.

I expect Daniela to overtake Rezai in the rankings.

being unseeded is always a very high risk. Sure, you could get a good draw against a qualifier and meet the lower seeded players in the next few rounds, but if you're completely unlucky you'll get Wozniacki and say goodbye on day one.

I think beeing seeded is much safer.

Daniela could beat Wozniacki on clay. :)

It would be difficult, but having watched Goerges beat her in Stuttgart,I see no reason why Daniela couldn't play the same way. Daniela's backhand is far superior as well. :P

I'd like Daniela to be seeded for Roland Garros because it would mean that she'd have won matches and got points and put her ranking up as a result. Plus, it's always better to be seeded than unseeded as there's far more chance of a good draw when seeded and the number of dangerous opponents is reduced a lot.

A lot of the players around Daniela in the rankings had points to defend here (or in Rome) and have lost, so that'll help Daniela's ranking, but Daniela winning matches will help the most.

Although Stosur's won the recent matches against Daniela, Daniela's always been competitive and the matches have been close. In all the matches that Stosur's won, she won the first set so it would be a big boost to Daniela's chances if she can get off to a good start and take the first set, it would give her a much better chance as she's always had to come from behind before and maybe that's left her a little short in the third set. It's going to be a tough match and Daniela will have to keep believing, keep fighting and take her chances when she gets them.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

I won't be able to watch it tomo but sending Daniela positive vibes and good luck to get a win off Stosur...it's been far too long since Daniela beat her and would be so awesome if she can pull through in a big tournament like this.
