Well done Daniela !! To be honest, i was afraid that her illness would affect her game
but obviously it didn't. Well, with Serena now...what can i say ?
Dani should play against her without fear or stress,
after all everyone expects a "Venus v Serena" final. We'll see...

First of all AWESOME WIN! But against Sez she cannot start slowly like she did against Zheng and Sugiyama. I was really worried at the beginning but then she cranked it up and i felt that Daniela was always going to win. I hope Daniela can enjoy her 4th round match on Monday, and I'm glad it's Serena in the 4th round so that if Daniela were to win against Sez it'll be an upset...

Also Daniela hit a 108mph serve, it's been a while since I've seen that - i really like Passos!

its possitive mainly for confidence.
revenge of the arrogant opponent would be nice

Pure Spartan this Daniela! :P Most work on her serve was done in off-season though.Yeah her serving on faster courts hasn't been too bad this year-it looked alright at the AO.

Now to avoid the double bagel against Serena.

A good win for Daniela. She overcame a slow start to run away with the first set and she was playing well with nice groundstrokes and some good touch shots. She got a wee bit complacent to drop serve in the third game of the second with some errors and not to break from 0-40 in the fourth game. She held then broke Ai, then the 4-2 game was tense as Daniela needed so many gps before eventually holding serve. She served it out on her third mp. She probably should have won the second set more easily than she did as she lost a little concentration in the 3rd and 4th games and her last couple of service games were tough, but you can't complain too much about a straight sets win. Ai always wins in North America but Daniela wins everywhere else.

Daniela's in the fourth round and if I'd been offered that before the draw, I'd have snapped your hand off, so I'm really happy she's in the fourth round. She hasn't beaten an elite player, but she's beaten dangerous opponents and played well in her matches. She overcame the crowd and an inspired Robson in the first round, last year's semi-finalist in straight sets in the second and her doubles partner and good friend who she had a losing record against in the third. Daniela gave good performances and played some nice tennis in all these matches. It's her best run in a slam since the 08 Australian Open and she's gained a lot of points to put her up the rankings.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Its not looking good for Monday. Daniela has left Wimbledon and is flying home due to illness. She hopes to return in time for her fourth round match.

BBC. I assume it means that Daniela has withdrawn from doubles, and will hope to be fit for her singles on Monday.

She was coughing from time to time during her match today against Sugi. If she has made the decision to go home then it must be quite bad. She obviously just coped well today and staying focused on her tennis, but doesn't feel as though she can do the same in the doubles tomorrow.

Q. What's happened to your voice? Do you have a cold?

DANIELA HANTUCHOVA: Yeah, I've been fighting a flu for the last few days. Before was more, you know, inside. Now it's coming out to the voice. Feel strange speaking like this (smiling).

full interview

she is in 4rth round and plays serena, dont think will skip from such challenge according her statements.
since will play on monday has two full days if withdraw from doubles to rest and recovering from the cold
its very sad to do this to sugiyama but end justifies the means
unlucky danka
