Ranked to the oppressions of extroversion on a body so young. She'll survive.

Thanks chungwit and everyone else for their views on the match. I didnt see it and personally I now dont really wish to see any of the highlights but when I woke up this morning I expected a 3 set defeat and that was what we got. Its dissapointing to hear of Daniela playing well and yet again not being able to maintain it and as for her net play, from what some people have said, this is a real dissapointment because she is such an accomplished volleyer. Hopefully the doubles can give her some rest bite and a chance to relax, have fun, and gain confidence

Yes Ivanovic out! That make me happy after the sorrow because of Danka ousted.

Dokic played well too. Seems like I gonna like her. :D

Can someone please tell me what happened to Daniela's net game?

I don't know.

I watch the Dellacque match in slow-mo
5-6 at 0-30
Daniela is hitting forehands at her when Casey tries to use her right hand.

Agreed.
I've heard or read about that match from last year about six times over the last day or two. Never once was Ana's squeaking mentioned. That's not the only reason she won or that Daniela lost but you cannot tell the story of that match without bringing that up. But the media who favor the top players decided to conveniently change history.

I really did think that Ivanovic was going to win that match after she somehow won that second set and I was thinking "that bitch has nine fucking lives here" then she was 3-0 down in the third but got it back to 3-2 on her serve and had game point but Ivanovic double faulted, Kleybanova took the next two points and then Ivanovic fell to bits.

If Alison Lang can umpire at grand slams, then so can I. She was umpiring the Dokic-Wozniacki match and she was letting them away with anything, like challenges about 30 seconds after the point had ended. Seriously, what sort of dirt does Alison Lang have on Larry Scott? It must be major.
If I dug up that dirt I'd use it to advance Daniela's career -
Me: "Daniela wins tomorrow."
Larry Scott: "This threatens the integrity of the game."
Me: "I'll go public."
Larry Scott: "Daniela wins"

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

As much as I wanted to see her winning as much I am disappointed now. Do not cheat ourselves. Daniela is not able to win a lot now. Anyway, I really hoped she could take it. She couldnt. Next time it will be ours.

Now that Ivanovic is out, that is an interesting section of the draw. Dokic could be a surprise semi-finalist, or even Cornet. I don't think Safina is playing consistently enough to win against Cornet and then (potentially) against the home favourite.
I think Zvonareva will come through the top quarter, although quite annoyingly, Bartoli is playing well this year. Maybe she will cause a few upsets as she did at Wimbledon in 2007 and reach the latter stages of this tournament.
Clear favourites in the bottom section are still Serena and Elena.

If Safina beats Cornet, i think she will reach the Final. Dokic will start to feel the pressure in the QF when everyone is expecting here to go even further, and Safina isn't mentally weak anymore, she's fit and Dokic will have lack of energy. If Kleybanova would make the Semis, i just couldn't stop laughing, don't know why.

I really don't know about the bottom Half. Dementieva is seeded as Semifinalist, but i'm not sure about Serena. I think Azarenka might beat her. One of the Bondarenko Sisters could definitely reach the QF.

*Nicole Vaidisova*Agnes Szavay*Tatiana Golovin*

*Daniela Hantuchova*Agnieszka Radwanska*Dinara Safina*
Alona Bondarenko*Iveta Benesova*Aleksandra Wozniak*
Elena Dementieva*Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova*Stefanie Vögele*

Since when is Ivanovic's ball toss this bad? As for Kleybanova, I do hope this is as far as women's tennis gets.

Honestly the result today was better then I expected. I was afraid that Daniela wouldn't be able to take a set against Cornet.
So I'm quite happy with the performance. Not only today, but for the whole tournament. Of course it could have been better, but Daniela is too inconsistent at the moment.
I think in the current situation, we should take the positive things out of the matches. Although I only saw the third set, IMO everybody could see that Daniela is able to beat nearly everybody on the tour, when Danka is on her best. But that is a fact, that most of us know. In 2007 Daniela was able to play on a very high level, consistant over a long period. She a had good run till her injury. Now we are back at a point where Daniela shows her best only from time to time - one set, one match, but not during a whole tournament. It will a hard way to get back, but Daniela we manage that.
I'm convinced Daniela will be back in the top 20 till the end of the year.
