Nadal V Soderling in the Abu Dhabi exhibition final and the tour starts in Brisbane, Chennai and Doha.

Was that Raphael Honigstein doing the interviews in Abu Dhabi? I'm a little upset that they couldn't get James Richardson.

Murray starting the year emphatically. Beating Golubev 2 and 2 in Great Britains first tie in the Hopman Cup after Laura Robson lost her rubber.

I don't think Andy Murray started the year that well:

Bagdatis wins in Sydney in straight sets and is now an even more dangerous floater in the AO draw.

Long time since the last post here.

But the "Return of the King" is worth to say something.

Finally Rafa is back on his throne of Roland Garros. Impressive win in the final.
Now the new number 1 in the ranking and good chances to gain some more points in Queens and Wimbledon.

Rafa was and is still the King of the red dirt.

A couple of big coaching changes:

Roger Federer is to work with coach Paul Annacone for a "test period" as the 16-time Grand Slam champion looks to get back to winning ways.

Cue speculation about Darren Cahill.

Andy would be crazy not to work with Darren if he's available.

Q. You're a veteran. I'm wondering if through the years the amount of hair gel players are using has increased.

IVAN LJUBICIC: Well, it's definitely a problem. (Laughter.) No, the guys are it's difficult. The older you get, the more difficult it is, of course.

Q. But are you surprised? I mean, when you came on tour, did you see that there was as much use of that as there is today?

IVAN LJUBICIC: No. Well, depends of the mentality of the player. Doesn't really mean you know, some guys are really careful how they look. The others don't. So it's up to them. For me, it's not about a look, but it's not like I have something to play with. (Laughter.)
