Tonight's Australian Open coverage on ESPN2 featured announcer Chris Fowler explaining to the audience that Japanese pro Kei Nishikori is, among other things, the highest-paid tennis player in the world and the owner of a restaurant chain, a soccer team, and clothing and perfume lines. None of those things are true, and they all come from notorious satire site MediaMass.

Fowler cited Nishikori as having earned $46 million in 2014. The actual number is $11 million, according to Forbes. That makes him the ninth-highest paid player—not the richest.

The Japanese tennis player has an estimated net worth of $145 million. He owes his fortune to smart stock investments, substantial property holdings, lucrative endorsement deals with CoverGirl cosmetics. He also owns several restaurants (the “Fat Nishikori Burger” chain) in Tokyo, a Football Team (the “Matsue Angels”), has launched his own brand of Vodka (Pure Wondernishikori - Japan), and is tackling the juniors market with a top-selling perfume (With Love from Kei) and a fashion line called “Kei Nishikori Seduction”.

Is anyone else wondering what a Fat Nishikori burger would actually taste like?

It's always great to see a Gael Monfils match at Roland Garros, just to stand up and shout ALLEZ GAEL!! whenever he wins a point if nothing else.

WOOF!! Djokovic bitch thrashed Nadal so finally someone else is going to win. It was getting beyond tedious with Nadal winning every year.

WOOF!! Amazing final at Roland Garros, Stan Wawrinka was blasting shots all over the place and deserved to win. It's a tough loss for Djokovic who must have felt this this was finally his time.
The guy that beat Nadal has lost in the final to a Swiss both times and Magnus Norman was coaching a finalist.

Great match between Gasquet and Wawrinka. It was a great win for Gasquet as he's had more than his share of tough losses and I imagine Djokovic was pretty pleased too. On a personal level it's fantastic for Gasquet but Wawrinka winning would have made for a better semi as he and Djokovic have had some great matches in the past whereas Djokovic will be the big favourite against Gasquet. It boosts Djokovic's chances as he has a good chance of winning his semi whereas Federer and Murray is likely to be a very close and tough match.
