Great start to the season by Nalby as he wins his first outdoor HC title by beating Nieminen 6-3 6-7(9) 6-2 in Sydney.

Got broken serving for the match,as per usual. He does like to make life hard for himself, doesn't he? Reminds me of another player I could mention.

He looked really motivated in the final against Nieminen and was pumping himself a lot. Hopefully he can transfer this form to Melbourne.

A successful start to the AO by Dahveed as he beats Gicquel 6-1 4-6 6-2 6-3. Typical Nalbandian performance as his brain decided to go walkabout in the second set, then just as you thought he was going to make a real hash of things he slips into fifth gear and cruises to victory.

Can't believe how crap Nalby played in his loss,I've never seen him miss so many backhands.

Del Potro was f*****g abysmal today, one of the most lamentable GS performances I've ever seen. I wonder if Peter Bodo still thinks he's more talented than Nalby?

Nalby returns from a nasty illness to beat Kendrick 6-4 6-4. Hope he can do well here.

Interestingly he's also playing doubles with Del Potro as well. Good thinking by the Davis Cup captain, getting them to bury the hatchet.

David Nalbandian is just awesome. He's the reason why I'm trying to learn the two-handed backhand.

If we're really lucky,we can get to watch Dahveed destroy Nadal again with his sublime BH,just as in Paris and Madrid 2007.

Daniela has a lovely Bh as well. Does it provide similar inspiration?

Absolutely. It's just that's I'm always staring at Daniela's beauty rather than her playing style. I used to think the double backhand was only popular among female players, but I was way wrong.

Can you remind me to make a thread about Daniela so I can gawk about her later?

Okay, back to Nalbandian. I think it's safe to say he has one of the best backhands on tour. Maybe I could get a second opinion on that. He's solid from both sides, but I just like his backhand stroke.

Good day for the Argentineans in Indian Wells as Del Potro comes through a final set tiebreaker to beat Melzer and Nalby cruises past Troicki in straight sets, with the usual number of sumptious backhands(which was just as well, because his Fh can be dodgy on occasion).
