Nadal could have a tough match in the second round.

You are right. Although I don't know how well Gulbis is on grass, but also Isner might be a tough opponent. Really good service but a bit inconsistent.

Agree on Isner, like a younger Andy Roddick but not as big a serve. As for Gulbis he pushed Murray very close at the Artois, but then again Nadal won the Artois, so a tough start but a comfortable start for Nadal in my opinion, and to be honest thats something I think he will want, an early test

Early roundsat a Grand Slam are never easy. Also Roger could have tough matches at the beginning.

As for Rafa also Stepanek could be a good test. Radek plays good tennis during the last weeks.

Oh man. Nalbandian already lost in the 1st round. What a disappointment.

Djokovic in 4 sets against Berrer - but in the end quite clear. Now against Safin. That could be an interesting match.

Federer comfortably against Hrbaty.

Stadler eliminated Karlovic

Little edit: I read in an article, that Björn Borg sees Roger only as n°3 in this years tournament behind Rafa and Novak.

But also before RG many "experts" (inkluding Borg and Wilander) thought Roger would win the title

Dont know if this has been mentioned in here but Im just watching Chris Eaton vs Boris Pashanski on the BBC and they are talking about Dmitry Tursunov, who will face the winner of this match, and his preparation for Wimbledon.

Tursunov was playing his first round doubles match at Nottingham last week and at a set and 3-1 down Tursunov and his partner defaulted the match after Tursunov walked off court and never game back. Aparently his annoyance was due to some dodgy line calls. Tursunov forgot however that that meant that he was disqualified from the singles draw as well, leaving Tursunov without as much match practice as he had hoped leading into wimbledon lol hot headed russians!!

Yeah I heard about that last week. Really funny situations with russians lately (Youzhny and his racket ...)

Marat Safin df Novak Djokovic 6-4 7-6 6-2 :D

The only really great sensation today so far. But I like that result :D

For someone who has openly stated that he hates grass, what a great result. The unfortunate thing about Safin is that he is capable of beating the best of the best on all surfaces but he just doesnt seem to be able to be consistent anymore. Unfortunate for Djokovic cause getting Safin in the 2nd round is a tough tough ask as it proved today and im guessing the question now is whos gonna stop another Federer vs Nadal final?

i was really surprised when i read that Nole lost so early.
before wimby he has been called an eventual problem for Federer in the semifinal, like at the Australian Open.

i wonder if Safin played very well or Djokovic rather bad... has anyone followed the match?

i watched the match. it was a bit of Safin finding some form again, and joke just not ever really getting into the match. after the match he said that he was fine physically fine, he was just mentally fatigued.

i dont blame him for being mentally tired. it must really draining having soo many good results and performing at his level day in day out.

but im really excited for safin! :D

Djokovic was below par, but Safin did have some great moments (and was quite consistent) and deserved to win. Its the best i've seen Marat play in a long time.
If he gets on a good run he could potentially make the semi's. The highest seeds left in his quarter are Baghdatis[10] and Wawrinka[13] so, if he stays consistent, he could get a good result this fortnight.
