There's Sol Campbell as well. Before he dated Hingis, Arsenal had the longest unbeaten run in English league history, she starts going out with him and they start losing and Campbell totally loses his form. It culminates in him being substituted at half time in a game against West Ham after his mistakes resulted in two West Ham goals. So he leaves the stadium at half time and disappears and no one knows where he is for a few days before he turns in Belgium and team-mate Robert Pires said Sol "has a big problem in his private life" which is one way of describing Hingis.
It does have a happy ending though as Campbell won the FA Cup with Portsmouth for their first trophy since 1950.

Sergio Garcia also won a big golf tournament in Florida the other month, so it is possible to recover form dating Hingis.

Stephen Fry also disappeared for a few days before turning up in Belgium and he's never dated Hingis.

Back to Nicole, I got her autograph in Berlin last year and she got a wrist injury the next day and she's been terrible since. So, sorry Nicole.

Lol I got her autograph the first time I went to Eastbourne in 2005, she was quite unknown to the un-educated in the tennis world but she was very polite and when i said thank you she said your welcome which you wouldnt get off of most tennis players, i remember getting Justine Henin's autograph and she didnt even acknowledge me, just signed and walked away.

Its weird cause for some reason, i dont even know why I have this feeling about Vaidisova, but I just get the feeling that she isnt well liked in the locker room, for some reason she just comes across to me as maybe a bit spoilt! Have nothing to justify that feeling but thats the feeling I get about her.

There is no doubt that she is a very good player and still very very young, and I do hope that she can re-find her form and climb back up the rankings

speaking of getting autographs, in Berlin after an early round match I went over to Azarenka and asked her to sign my book, and she said thank you. I've liked her ever since, lol.

@ chungwit  Nice stats on Hingis. Never knew guys outside tennis suffered from Hingisitis.

I hope Nicole does gets back to the form she had when she reached the top ten. Nothing worse than having a bad game. It can get you down, i can imagine. Goodluck Nicole :)

Vaidisova doesn't tell me anything... I think she's a player like the others, nothing less nothing more (very common thing in the wta), so the only way she has to emerge from the group is a strong mentality..... which probably isn't her case lol

The next 1st round exit this season. Really disappointing for her.

Huh? She was already 7th in the ranks and mentality was always her weakness. She used to have a serve not like the others. Where has it gone I don't know.
Her slump resembles Daniela's 2003-04 period.

Post subject:  Re: Nicole Vaidisova

I think that there's a good chance that Nicole could be serving and volleying more in future to give her game more variety and more tactical options as David Felgate was Tim Henman's coach for years and Henman was a very effective serve and volleyer.
