It certainly isnt the greatest draw for Daniela, but looking at the entry list she would have been a very very lucky girl to have got a good draw. Still Schiavone, is certainly beatable and on recent form I would never put it past her.

I dont believe very much Janovics excuses since Charleston about her wrist injury... She could play her backhand in Charleston and Fed cup, too. And now she brightly started in Stuttgart.... Jankovic has always been a glutton for punishment, i remember a couple of seasons ago she played a tournamen...

Always a tough tournament this one, shown by that entry list. One match at a time is all Daniela can do, she has shown she has improved a lot on clay so who knows, but being that this tournament is in her favourite city in the world I think she'll enjoy being there whatever happens.

Fantastic win for Daniela, I said it would take a massive effort to beat Jankovic twice on the spin and she only went and pulled it off. Congrats Daniela, so far so good for the clay court season, which has been notoriously her worst surface over the years, lets hope she turns that around this year...

Daniela has her win against Jankovic in Charleston to build upon ahead of todays match, but it will be mighty tough for her to beat her again, especially in front of a partisan home crowd.
