I know that there were extenuating circumstances in Chennai but it demonstrates that even the best players can be totally thrashed. You just look at the thrashing Nadal gave Federer at Roland Garros or the way Shazza crushed top players at the Australian Open.

Bartoli and Cornet lost, so they're not getting any points from this tournament. But Daniela has to gain points herself. She'd have a lot more if she hadn't missed tournaments through illness and injury this year and next year, she'll have so many chances to gain points without having any to defend....

Schiavone's ranked 23 and even though she came through qualifying she's really main draw standard. Daniela could have had someone easier from qualifying but she hasn't, so she just has to go out and beat Schiavone. This is going to be a good guide to Daniela's level as Schiavone normally beats modes...
