Can someone please tell me what happened to Daniela's net game? I was cringing at some of those missed volleys. Ludicrously inconsistent match from Daniela, one great point followed by one lousy one. it's not enough to get the job done against a top 20 player. I felt she was very upset at the end of ...

Can't believe how crap Nalby played in his loss,I've never seen him miss so many backhands.

God bless the Eurosport player after I overslept and missed the live action! I was very encouraged by what I saw today, although Daniela has to work on not being thrown by bad calls-which lead to two breaks of serve in the second set. The game to break back in the first set and the game to consolidat...

Don't get me wrong,I'm all in favour of Daniela putting in the hard work on the fitness front and it seems to have paid off today. The point Sam was making was that it was extremely unusual for a player to be putting this kind of work in now,as opposed to the off-season;Sam seemed to feel that this ...

Well I got to see the repeat and it wasn't pretty but it got the job done! Some good points in the tiebreak, nice touches at the net(when she could be bothered to go up there) and much more solid serving than I'm used to-the court is really helping her kick serve. Interesting tidbit from Sam Smith on...

A successful start to the AO by Dahveed as he beats Gicquel 6-1 4-6 6-2 6-3. Typical Nalbandian performance as his brain decided to go walkabout in the second set, then just as you thought he was going to make a real hash of things he slips into fifth gear and cruises to victory.

Great start to the season by Nalby as he wins his first outdoor HC title by beating Nieminen 6-3 6-7(9) 6-2 in Sydney. Got broken serving for the match,as per usual. He does like to make life hard for himself, doesn't he? Reminds me of another player I could mention.

Finally managed to catch some of the match on a Eurosport repeat and was pleasantly surprised:she played much better than I thought from following the online coverage. Her movement was excellent-haven't seen her move that well since the AO last year. I agree with martin on shot strength, with one pro...

Hmm, she's actually too intelligent for that sport. It'll be the goal to put the brain on standby, not thinking too much, just playing your game and win the matches. Just look at Sharapova. She's focussed in every match. That's why she's the real number 1 Afraid I disagree fundamentally with this. ...

It's really painful to watch Daniela these days-Just rolling the serve in,UE by the bucketful, dismal netplay and a piss-poor on-court attitude that reeks of negativity. She is a very intelligent girl, but always seems to put the brain on standby when it actually comes to playing the matches.

Daniela's huge hissy fit was one of the reasons I really enjoyed this match-just admired the intensity and passion to win(Patty was coming up with some amazing clutch tennis as well). What impressed me in the end, though, was her composure after being broken back in the 3rd set. You could have forgive...

Not the start to the New Year I was hoping for. And whats with all the collapsing in recent matches? You can usually rely on Daniela to fight to the bitter end.
