That's a great win for Daniela. Straight sets is definitely unexpected. Into the third round, and in the process gaining plenty of ranking points. Bartoli is not an easy match-up given her form this spring/summer (very good results at RG, Wim, Stanford), but it's a better opponent for Daniela than s...

Well, Wozniacki’s post-Brussels trauma continues, as she loses to McHale in straight sets in her opening match. The world number 1 yet to get a win in the US Open Series.

Having not seen the match it's difficult to say who played well and who didn't, but Sabine played some pretty awful tennis yesterday against Peer so perhaps she wasn't much better today. :|

Daniela and Sabine might well make a good pairing, if only now and again when their more regular partners are absent. They don’t have the easiest draw this week though, with a potential second round match with Toronto champions Huber/Raymond. Elsewhere, Radwanska’s shoulder injury has got worse and ...

Excellent draw. Not only does Daniela have a decent first round, but she also, if she wins her opener, has a winnable second round. Not too many of the other 55 players will be able to say that. And regarding "Western & Southern Open", I think they've just removed the 'Financial Group'...

It would have been nice for Daniela to have been able to have a run in the doubles but her partner withdraws for the second week in a row.
Yet managed to beat Zvonareva today, so it was most likely a precautionary pull-out.

Roland Garros champ Li out as well, and Zvonareva beaten by Radwanska for the second time in less than a week. Vinci backed up her win over Wozniacki with a straight-sets win over Ivanovic. Odd quarter-final line-up for such a big event: Vinci v STOSUR A.RADWANSKA v PETKOVIC Voskoboeva v AZARENKA SC...

Well from 1-2 in the second set it was all Martinez Sanchez. Disappointing because it would have been good for Daniela to have another shot, potentially, at Azarenka, given their close match at Wimbledon. Martinez Sanchez did beat Pavlyuchenkova though, and she did beat Jankovic at Wimbledon, so it'...

No stumble for Martinez Sanchez, as she holds to 15, and takes the opening set 7-5. Daniela with alot of work to do.
