Yeah, and she had posted one of those fun pictures on FB where she's hugging a giant tennis ball and stated how happy she was to be in Madrid. Makes me worried. Her replacement, Mattek-Sands, was belted 2 & 3 by Rogers, so maybe it was just as well. The draw sheet says Daniela has a back injury....

Well, this caught me off guard, but I like it! Had no idea Dani was playing this tourney. One question: on the home page here she is listed with 565 wins. Did the 3 she got a few weeks ago when she got to a semifinal in Italy not count for some reason? I would like to think she got #569 today.

Oh well. It is still an encouraging week. I don't know the point allotments for ITF tourneys, but I hope Daniela picked up enough to get her into the 100's, or close to it. And it's nice to be able to look forward to her next event.

A semifinal! Can't recall the last one of those. Very efficient win for Dani today. I'm not bothered by the BP numbers because almost all of them came in 2 games, and she won one of those.

Now that I have finished kicking myself, time to celebrate victory #567. 600 is still within reach. Kicked myself because I set my alarm for 6:08 AM EDT, which miscalculated the time difference by 1 hour. So, when the alarm went off, Daniela had already won the first set and was up 2-1 in the second...
