Oy. Ten days on vacation with no Internet and this is the news I come back to.
Two bad losses, but still only two matches. I'm sure Daniela (if healthy) has some good tennis still left in her; hopefully we see it in Melbourne. |

One wonders what would have happened had Ivanovic managed to pull out that match last night. . . |

Regardless of how this finishes, Daniela is very lucky to even have a chance in this match. Due entirely to the inferior quality of her opponent. |

While everyone was sleeping, Daniela just double-bageled Paszek 6-0, 6-0. No live scoring as I turned it on up 4-0 and didn't want to jinx it. These are only the third and fourth sets this year Daniela's won 6-0. And incredibly, that's the first time Daniela's ever double bageled another player. And... |

Has anyone ever had an easier draw to win a slam? The only other player to win a Grand Slam without beating a top 15 seed (I know, seeds can be very deceptive of a player's ability) was Sue Barker in the 1976 French Open. Barker was a similar player to Bartoli, consistently a good player, never a g... |

This seems like as good as time as any to reopen this forum given how wide open Wimbledon has been and the fat that we are guaranteed a first-time slam winner.
Radwanska vs. Lisicki Flipkens vs. Bartoli
Put me down for Radwanska over Flipkens |

Klara d Beck 76 63 making twice the amount of unforced errors than she did against Daniela..at least Daniela won't get the golden spoon..
Related - Jon Wertheim, who gets paid big money to write about tennis, had Annika Beck in the semifinals. |

http://www.masseyratings.com/tourn.php?s=wta2013 Serena Williams, who's played all of one match, is now a 91% favorite to win the tournament with Sharapova and Azarenka out. Her most likely final opponent is Marion Bartoli, who is 14-11 this year. Serena caught a break in that the two best remainin... |

It's about as good of a draw as can be expected with the goal of winning two matches. Of course, there were many easier first round players, but drawing one would have meant a seed and almost certainly one better than Klara in round two. |
