I'm not sure where to post this, but here is an outstanding article on the importance of home court in tennis (specifically the ATP, but the WTA would behave the same you'd think). This is the kind of stuff the clowns like Cronin and Bodo who get paid - i.e. they devote 40 or so hours a week to tenn...

Wozniacki has now lost three games in three singles matches. It's really quite disappointing that she and Daniela could not do more together in doubles given how well Caroline is playing (and Daniela is no slouch either).

I think it's pretty clear where we are with Daniela at this point and today's match was a microcosm of that. When Elena was playing uncharacteristically poor early on, Daniela capitalized and did just fine. When Elena found her level, Daniela did basically nothing and was simply overpowered, outshot...

There is a lot of rain expected on Friday in New York because of Hurricane Earl, so it's doubtful Daniela plays until Saturday.

Honestly, it's tough to take too many positives from this one today. Struggling to beat a player like King is not a good omen. She will need a much better performance against Dementieva, suffice to say. Specifically, she needs to do a lot better on second service points, both as the server and the r...

What a disaster. I almost hope she loses this match at this point. If you can't execute to beat Vania King, who has less weapons than maybe anyone in the whole draw, you should take up another line of work.

Daniela plays second match of the day tomorrow, after Dementieva-Bondarenko.

I laughed very hard at this parody of the "venerable" US news magazine Time.

Memo to the WTA Tour: Revise your stupid, simplistic rankings such that they adjust for strength of opponent. Stop trying to tell us that losing to a qualifier in round one is the same as losing to the top seed. And stop pretending that these sort of things even out; over the one year which the rank...

. She seemed to have added 2-3 mph.

Really?? I saw her serve at best was 102mph, usually i thought 106mph was Dani's best...

She was consistently there though - everything I saw was between 96 and 103.

Radwanska was just too tough tonight. Daniela had really just one bad patch of games in the middle of the match - as she did against Kleybanova - but the competition was too tough tonight. One definite positive was that her new service motion was paying dividends on the first serve in particular. Sh...
