Daniela's changed coaches in the indoor season the last two years, so we'll see who's coaching her here and in Luxembourg, because that's where she's changed coaches: Portas in 2008 and Nicolas replacing Passos in 2009. I'm pretty sure Angel was still with her in Luxembourg 2008,but she lost the pl...

Oh Dani Hani!!!! Chances to break back to level at 4-4, but instead doesn't capitalise and then gets broken in the next game to give the set to Hercog. At least she finally broke now, but she isn't doing herself any favours by making this match longer than it should be. Hope her shoulder/arm is hold...

Well... Daniela hasn't pulled out. Hopefully, this means she has recovered. Would hate for her to risk injury again. Anyway, here's the draw. Tough, as usual, but not completely unkind! 1R: Hercog 2R: Schiavone BYE: (1) Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) Sara Errani (ITA) vs. (WC) Peng Shuai (CHN) Flavia Penn...

Next Opponent: Kimiko Date-Krumm Kimiko outplayed Sharapova. Was really fun to watch. She was just getting everything back and creating some wicked angles. Kinda scared now for Daniela. If Kimiko plays anywhere near how she played today, then Daniela will have to be patient and not go for crazy winn...

Nice win!! :D Daniela seemed to struggle a little bit on serve, but managed to save a whole heap of break points, which was great! And she won 100% of all her break point chances. All in all, she played the big points well! Tough 2R opponent, regardless of who gets through. Most likely Sharapova. If...

*sigh* another difficult draw  1R: Kerber 2R: Sharapova/Date-Krumm She had a tough 3 setter against Kerber in Charleston, so this is no easy 1R! Not even going to mention what awaits her in 2R! [1] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) bye Qualifier - Qualifier Kateryna Bondarenko (UKR) - Anabel Medina Garr...

Oh Daniela!? Had you told me at the beginning of the tournament that you would get to the 3rd round, I would have been satisfied with that. But knowing you had chances... I don't know why I keep expecting deep runs in tournaments. It was really foreseeable that up 5-2 with 3 set points that she was ...

Sucks to hear Daniela had a back injury, at her favourite tournament nonetheless... In retrospect, she at least put up a fight even if she wasn't 100% so I take back my comment that it was a horrid performance. Though, reports over at the TF say that Daniela is back to training, so hopefully the bac...

That was horrid! Back to square one AGAIN! The only positives I can gain from this is that she showed some fight clawing her way back in that second set, though who knows if it was due to Vinci's errors rather than Daniela's play. At least she won't get thrashed by Wickmayer in the next round, but t...

I'd like to say the wind was a factor, but both players have to deal with it. I think that was a crucial game she needed to hold; especially if she was able to claw her way back from 0-40 and then save additional break points. It would have done wonders for her confidence. BOOOO! Match isn't over, b...
