Daniela should be able to beat Fujiwara pretty easily. Fujiwara's almost 30 and she's never won a match at a slam and has spent most of her career on the ITF circuit. Daniela's been in very good form recently and I can't see Fujiwara giving her too many problems. At the same time, Fujiwara's won some matches here and has to be respected as an opponent. You just want Daniela to get through this quickly without any problems. |

Kirilenko just beat Goerges so Daniela will be playing shortly. Stanford's premier event and that's not televised until the quarter-final but the International in Maryland is televised. |

1-0. Daniela breaks Fujiwara to 0. 2-0. Daniela had to save a BP. 3-0. Daniela breaks to 30. 4-0. Daniela holds to 30, she's putting a lot of first serves into the net. 5-0. Fujiwara had a gamepoint but Daniela gets the break. 6-0. Daniela serves it out to 0. 2nd set 1-0. Daniela breaks to 0. 2-0. Daniela wins 4 straight points to hold from 15-40. 2-1. Fujiwara wins her first game. 3-1. Daniela holds to 15. 4-1. Double break for Daniela. 4-2. Daniela broken to 15. 5-2. Daniela breaks to 30. 6-2. Daniela fires an ace to get to 40-0, Fujiwara save two MPs but Daniela wins on the third. |

She's playing pretty well, eddy. Daniela's dictating most of the rallies, she's got more power than Fujiwara and Fujiwara's mostly retrieving. |

6-0, 6-2. Easy enough win as expected. If nothing else, it gives Daniela a little time on the courts in live match play which Sharapova will not have. |
